Rep Power: 380 john the only reason ur cable modem is great is because 1. you live in glendale ($) 2. you have one of the most advanced cable systems in LA.
i have sbc at home and at the office, i have static ips on both behind 2 firewalls... the connection ova here at work is pretty fast, at home it really takes along time to load stuff, but thats because my computer sucks ***... because i have static ips, it never drops...

i have sbc dsl for $26 a month. you know that special they have. i have no probs with it and no drop connections, in fact, i was told i was very close to the "relay station" or something, so my up/dl are up to max. i'm happy, but i liked roadrunner cable more cuz it is faster. i compared with my friend who has it. btw, this is in orange.

Rep Power: 311 I have SBC dsl (used to be pac bell), and it is SLOW, STOPS WORKING, AND DROPS CONNECTION.
The only better internet I've used is at school and at my bf's office (he also has SBC dsl.
So I guess it has to do with my modem or my area.
Sucks, but I stick with SBC, because dsl is all I know. I don't think I've ever used dial-up or anything else in my life before. I don't even know what it's like.
