hey guys, i was just wondering if it would be worth getting a nextel. they recommend i buy one for work, it is also a tax write off. i have verizon now, and by choice would never want to switch.
lemme know what you guys with nextel think..and also if anyone here has hookups at a nextel spot.

I have bof Nextel and Verizon but although the coverage on Verizon is a little better than the Nextel I just like my Nextel If you like Phat Farm you could get the I733 phat farm edition that phone rules!

HAHAHA... my nextel compared to my ole Cingular is the bomb. Like there is a class at Long Beach where no one in the class had reception, and I was the only person with reception.
Anyways.. it's pricier than other plans tho...

Nextel sucks ***
IMO. I have both nextel and AT&T I love AT&T the phone is better, better reception anywhere, and the bill is quite pricey you'll be paying 2X what your paying for bullshit direct connect. At first it's cool using d/c give it a few weeks and that ish becomes anoying

I have had Nextel, Verizon, Cingular, and AT&T in the past, I would choose cingular or verizon, they tend to have the best service between the four of them and best pricing. With my nextel i95 i would always drop calls, half the time not understand the direct connect and when it comes to roaming or traveling, forget it, Nextel doesnt allow roaming, so if you are outta state and they have no coverage, you be screwed, happened to me when i went to colorado.
I have AT&T for personel and Nextel for work. I don't use the nextel to much but I think it works great. Being in the middle of the mojave on edwards, the only reception we really get is nextel. Plus you can't beat the walkie talkie. If any of you friends have nextel's, you can talk to them as much as you want for I think 1 dollar a day. <walkie talkie only> They charge by day for this feature. As for actual phone calls. Don't know always use the 2 way feature.

the plan i found is this (promo)
$54.99
1000 anytime minutes
unlimited direct connect
unlimited nights/weekends
unlimited nationwide long distance
phone is the i60c or something for $49.99
because i am a government employee, i get 10% off the monthly bill and half off on the phone. plus...its a tax write off.
ahh, still iffy.

The Incoming plan is awesome, thats the one i had, Id talk light 3000 minutes a month and never go over my rate plan, i did the same, told people to call me back. I was just unhappy with the phone prices and some of the coverage area, but Kafyn, let me know when your ready to do this, i got connections on Nextel too. Infact I got connections on ANY phone carrier, except sprint, my owner sells all of the local carriers and gives hella good deals on phones, especially if you a homie.

heyyy i need a verzion samsung a310 phone or an LG vx3100 phone or a vx4100 phone...if anyone has hookups i need to buy it without activation...so if anyone has one lying around or anything lemme know.
My boyfriend, myself and our business line are all on Cingular, my boyfriend and our roommate have Nextel's for their other job and neither of them like Nextel very much. They get the worst reception everywhere. The only thing they like about Nextel is the 2-way messaging - but thats hard to do if you're not getting reception(the poor reception isn't just in our area but many others too). We all really like Cingular, it seems to fit the best for us, but that also could be due to the fact that just about everyone else we talk to also uses Cingular so we talk to them for free (I guess that makes things a little easier). I have no complaints about the reception from them in my area or most other areas - I've even noticed expanded service out where I go camping up in the Sierra's.
man nextel is the best...I got the free incoming plan where I have 600 daytime minutes, free incoming calls of course, unlimited night and weekends, unlimited text messages, internet access where I can check everything from football scores to where I can check movie times in every city/state in the US, restaurants in all cities/states...lot of other cool stuff...I can shop from my phone, oh yeah don't forget the walkie-talkie...I pay $80 something a month for all of that...but my girl has 750 daytime minutes, unlimited night and weekends, two-way walkie talkie, the same internet access I have for only $39.99/month...its only for new users...u have to call to get this plan
