yup att is GSM now and you can try asking people on www.howardforums.com they might be able to help or
you can find some shady foo to do it at one of those mom and pop cell phone shops. I used to do that but you have to buy special equipment for certain products to unlock and I sold it all

this is a temporary fix so you cant turn off your phone or you'lll have to do it again so as long as you leave on your phone all the time like me this will work BUT YOU MIGHT LOOSE ALL YOUR PHONE NUMBER SO RIGHT THEM DOWN!!!

This is what i found on the net about unlocking S300.

code:--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Power on the mobile phone without SIM card inside and type these codes:

*2767*63342# and press green button
*2767*3855# and press green button
*2767*2878# and press green button
*2767*927# and press green button
*2767*7822573738# press green button

Phone will be unlocked

if that doesnt work try this I found this somewhere else

"The codes are as follows, they worked on my s300, and on my brothers v200, but make sure you havent got nething stored on the phone coz it'l reset the phone to how it was wen u 1st bought it, i.e. erase all phonebook entries, pictures, downloads etc... (or print off any data thru the software it comes with) "

before punchin these codes in take the SIM card out, and turn on the phone, it will say 'insert sim' but ignore that and punch in:

*2767*63342# auto restart indicates "insert sim"

*2767*3855# auto restart indicates "insert sim"

*2767*2878# auto restart indicates "insert sim"

*2767*927# auto restart indicates "insert sim"

*2767*7822573738# auto restart indicates "insert sim"

put ur sim back in after completing this sequence and ur phone shud b unlocked to all networks

i called cingular and said that I am leaving the country for 3 months to go to Japan and need to unlock the phone so I can use a GSM service in Japan. They gave me the instructions on how to do it right over the phone

I tried the same thing w/ cingular. They will unlock it for you if it is a tri-band phone, Im pretty sure they won't if your phone doesnt support it. But it doenst hurt to try. Get someone w/ a cingular account to call and tell them they are leaving for a vacation to thailand or japan or something (somewhere that uses gsm), and that u need an unlock code issued. If they refuse, and say they have a new policy, just keep insisting that at the cingular store they said you would be able to get it unlocked. They might say no, but just keep insisting. (ask for the manager and complain, etc) But thats how I got my 2 T68s unlocked!
