i know majority of you guys have tint and lately i've been hearing a lot of people complaining about getting tickets for their tint. since when did pigs have enough time to stop people for their tint?! people are dying in LA and we're getting pulled over for tint. sigh.. so uhm yeah, i guess juss becareful guys! the "porkers" are getting down and dirty! - monica

last year when i was in highschool i was always gettin pulled over. it was because i lived in a small town adn the cops there had nothign better to do. but now im here in philly goin to college and the cops here dont care whatsoever because theyre busy going after real criminals.

Rep Power: 416 unless if they have a silencer(which they probably dont) it would be stoopid to shoot someone from inside your car. i heard its loud enough where you'll actually go deaf.

what if you have a skin condition like i do?? i have eczema and if i stay out in the sun too long i get itchy and my skin begins to burn like fire. so if i had a good REASON like my medical condition, could i still cruise with tinted windows (with a doctors note of course.... 
) and not be ticketed??? or are the ppl in cali heartless *** **** and dont care. seriously, i am tired of wearing heavy sweaters and double shirts, i sweat like a **** and it looks stupid, especially during the suumer..... heheh sorry i bitched too much

Your eczema is not serious enough, unless you would die or suffer worse medical maladies. Sorry, I know itchiness sucks, but they won't accept it.
My skin condition actually qualifies,
You have to send a letter to this dept (not DMV); some higher order in the CA gov. Then you have to send a "script" from the dr's office. I will give u the info if you want to give it a try; I have to look it up. Like I said, I'm pretty sure you won't qualify, but you can try. It's a free country. heh.
And no, I never sent a letter, because it is too much trouble. I just wear alot of clothes in the car. I have medium tint (not dark); if I ever get hassled, I would just fight the ticket because I have reason to have dark windows...

i think some states allow tint for medical exceptions. u have to prove u have a medical condition in which u need tints to some department. they inturn give u a sticker that u have to place between the window and the tint

Rep Power: 0 I'm not sure why windows can't be tinted too dark, but I do know that the fronts and rears have different VLT (visible light transmission) limits in California, at least.

As far as the medical excuse, isn't it UV that irritates it? Almost all tint is 100% UV protectant, so any other tint is just preventing light/heat... Unless heat is an irritant, in which case, I concede.

my were the darkest before limo in the front
the cop was cool, fix it ticket is better than speeding
the cop didn't even have a radar gun out, he told me to drive safe and enjoy my day, and i did

Rep Power: 0 umm ive never been pulled over for anything yet (knock on wood) even tho i could have if the cop really wanted to lol. I have dark tint on the rear side windows and the rear window. People who gotpulled over and hassled for tint, you guys have ur front windows tinted?
Umm ive seen some trucks with hardcore tint all over. This dude with Metal Mullisha crap everywhere has dark tint all the way around. This dude with a lifted S10 has tint all the way around but on the windshield he has a lil clear spot where you can see in.
anyways with all the dark tint all over, it reminds me of Rex Navarrette. "Hella tinted windows, cause ya, you people are hella ugly" ahaha thats good stuff. The rice rockets one is good t. Ok enough of my rambling.

I was at a light, a Cop was 1 car back to the left of me. I rolled my Front window dow (And they were limo tint). As I turned he pulled me over, As he came up he stated " the reason I puled you over was because of the tints on your windo".
Being me I said " So your telling me thats the only reason, and you have nothing else better to do ". He said "I wouldnt of pulled you over if you didnt roll them down "
So while he was writing the ticket I ask him what if I had a skin condition, He said if you have a note from the Docter then you can get the ticket taken off.. Also, if you have the note in your car and its note dated to old, you can show the Cop and they will dismiss the windows.
