problem with po po's

my uncle was going down the 57s along side a porker for bout 2min going 65. my uncle speeds up a bit faster not much, i'd say a good 70mph. cop gets behind us and pulls us over. "sir i clocked you exceeding the speed limit at 72" so my uncle says "i wasn't going 72 i was going 65" and the porker says, "sir u disrespected me by passing me." my uncle requested to see the radar gun and the pork said it has no memory. and issued my uncle with a ticket.

OK. i thought radar guns only work if you are at a stand still. radar sends a signal to the object and it bounces back and u get ur magical #. but the cop clocked him in motion. yiah the cop could have paced him but he didn't and said "i clocked you. . ." soOoooo, yiiiiiiah. if the copper clocked us at 72 then we would have been going 137 for the radar gun to read us going 72. and wuts up with the deal on "disrespecting me by passing" FJCK YOU BJTCH!!!!!!!

n e who, now that i said it...any way that i can fight this?

That suck's man. You should check out this book: Fight you Ticket in California by the Nolo Press. It's a very very good book. It gives you all kinds of arguments against radars (ie- was it calibrated; by ear or by pitch fork?, how long ago?, etc...). Go to www.nolopress.com Good luck.

get a lawer and he will get you off, because if he knows how to use it, it would tell him how fast u wer going and he probly paced you, the lawyer will ask him for all the certifications...

Had the same thing happen to me. Im going to court to fight the ticket. I was actually using my cruise control on the carpool lane going with the flow of traffic going 70, cruiser got behind me said he paced me at 75 had someone in the car with me who can be a witness. I also ticketed me with no front plate. Isnt that a biatch you cant even pass up a cop on the carpool lane. He was in the regular lane going about 60, with a trail of cars behind him to scared to pass him up. Wish me luck in court.

Radar grabs the biggest first thing it sees and uses that to calculate the speed of the moving police car…then calculates the times differences between two readings on your car to figure out the speed. Also...if the cop was going 70mph...and clocked you at 2mph...then simple math would deduct that you were going 72. As far as the disrespecting part...blahhhhh... he needs to go arrest a drug dealer or some one weaving in traffic with a cell phone in their ear not using a turn signal. I have respect for cops...but not for dipshi*s like the one that pulled you over.

Radar can clock you at a stand still or at moving speed. Now, I don't know if you guys know or not, but some of their cars have a thing that can clock you if you are coming up behind them. Like I never knew that they could "guess your speed" if you are driving behind them...then when you get closer, you suddenly brake to stay behind them --- but yeah, unfortunately, some cars have it now on the back.

CHP tends to have cops out that are real jerks. I pass cops all the time. Nearly rear ended a guy kuz he slammed on his brakes when a cop pulling onto the street we were on. Changed lanes and took off to go the speed limit leaving the old guy in his brand new mercedies to put along...I hate people who are affraid of cops...just drive normal and you have no problems....

Passing a cop isn't disrespectful, nor is it against the law unless you are speeding. Tkae it to court and get a lawyer. Ask for the video tape of your pull over...most police cars have them with audio...they wear the microphone.... The judge will hear how much of a pig this cop was and rule on that.

from what i learned from a REAL cop in a criminal justice class...
DO NOT PASS A COP... they think they are cooler
DO NOT LOOK AT THE COP... makes you look suspicious
DON'T FIDGET... they think you are hiding something if you move around... keep both hands on your sterring wheel if u drive a auto
try not to look in the rear view mirror cuz chances are, they are looking at it too... don't make eyecontact

i don't even have insurance nor a front lisence plate...
never got pulled over... i guess it's the american car treatment
