my ebay account :(

I'm so freaking pissed off. Someone stole my ebay account. I dont know how but someone managed to get onto my account change my password and email address and start selling stuff. Now my account is frozen and ebay is investigating WHY ME! I did what ebay told me to do and change all my account passwords (email, paypal, and bank accounts linked to ebay) and they assured me even though they got access to my ebay they cant get direct access to my bank acts or paypal. Still I'm freaking out. DAMN PPL that screw us good folks... has this happened to anyone before?

Ernbu:

Hey man, I often time get emails from Ebay asking me to verify my password or change my password and such. If you ever recall getting any of those or one of those emails and you responded to them, that would explain why your account got taken. There are a lot of fake fraud emails that go out to Ebay and Paypal owners asking them to verify personal information via an Email! NEVER NEVER do that, if you get an email, just bypass the email and log into your paypal account or ebay account directly on their site, if they need to verify info, it'll prompt you on their site asking you to verify that information. Even though the email may have come from like verification@ebay.com or xxxx@paypal.com, it's still fake fraud ****. I've had that happen alot. Thats the only way I can think of how you may have lost your account and someone stole it. So try to remember back if you've responded to en email like that. Especially if you use a hotmail account for ebay or paypal, those are sent out in mass quanities.

Sorry about your luck man, hope you get it all taken care of.

-Eric

yeah i know about the fake emails, i always get them, but i ignor them all the time. the good news is that i got control of my account back! they do have the ip logged from where the passwords was changed (requested) since it does log it. but i doubt anything will come of that. oh well i'm happy again
