Exclamation NEED SOME HELP OVER HERE!!!!!!!

Was just looking on ebay for some cars to buy and came across this. Maybe my soon to be car?

Anyone know who owns this? Anyone want to go check this car out with me? I know it doesnt have an airbag, but i hate them anyways. Airbags cut my arm and did $7000 worth of damage, when they didnt even need to be deploy, on my last car.

Also I know it has a salvaged title, but hell if I can get it cheap I could careless.

Only thing that gets me is the fact that it is salvaged and he says the only reason for that was,
It was damaged on the top of the hood below the passanger air bag. We replaced the hood and upgraded the lights. Everything functions as it should. It is mechanically/electrically sound. It needs an air bag, which can be found on e-bay for about $150.
For some reason, I dont believe that would be enough for a salvage title.

Cant come up for one day Jodie? PLZ?

Kyle, I really can't just come up for one day right now! I'm so sorry! If there is some way to, I will let you know right away! Sweetie, once air bags are deployed, the car is either totaled out or a salvage title is given is certain cases, that is the law as I know it.

Actually Jodie, from my experiences, I believe it is the insurance company that chooses. Usually it is decided by the amount of damage. Most insurance companies will salvage a car at around 75% of the fair market value worth of damage. The prices the use to determine costs are insane tho. On the jag I crashed, was estimated at around $12,000 worth of damage. The car is all fixed now and only ended up costing around 6. They were going to make it salvaged, but we said f*ck you.

Of course, sweetie! Ins. Companies will decide and you do have a choice, but, have to fight with them.

ill check it out with ya...

you should talk with your insurance company to make sure that they will write a salvaged-title

then get a carfax report...you might be able to get more info on what 'actually' happened to it (the damage that is stated is not enough to salvage it)

let me know!!

That looks pretty good, not too many vics in that color. Definitely check it out first though and ask a lot of questions in regards to the car's maintenance and why there's no airbag. I would be very wary when buying private and keep in mind that just driving in no way will indicate it was maintained well, since things like timing belt could be old but still drive ok, except a month later break and rods start flying into the valve cover (sorry, happened to me before and I am way too cautious these days w/ independents). It very well could have been in an accident. Look at the engine bay and see if paint between the firewall and body are different. If so, then you may be dealing w/ a salvage. Well, good luck...

Ok, I'm gonna go call the guy right now and ask some more questions and get his address. Then I will call you, J.T., and see when you will be able to go.

Ok, I was unable to check the car out. Which isnt too bad, but would have liked to. It turned out my brother brought is gf over to have dinner with us. I talked to the guy over the phone and he said exactly the same thing that happened to my jag. When the airbag deployed all the windows were closed, which caused the front windshield to break, the tops of the doors to bend out, the sunroof to pop up and the dash was severely damaged. He also said all of that had been fixed.

I asked him what kind of projectors those were and he couldnt remember off the top of his head. All he said was they were white projectors not the blueish or yellowish ones.

I believe I will bid on this, hopefully the price wont go up too much.

Ok well he withdrew the auction with 10 mins left. It was only at $4,000 and he was hoping for around 8. So he sent me an e-mail saying he would sell it to me for $7500 cash. Now I'm thinking, there is an SSM(I know everyone has an SSM civie) on autotrader with 29k miles for $8100.

I'm wondering if that is worth it or not. I dont really mind the salvage title since I'm not gonna resell it right now, but would love it if J.T. or someone could come hold my hand through the entire inspection process. I would be going down Wed. since I have a prior engagement thur and need to pack to go on vacation fri(but is a possibility)

well that's a no-brainer...

The SSM civic with only 29K and a clear title for $8100 is a MUCH better buy than that battered inca civic with like what, 53K miles? And if you so desire, I would be available Thursday (but not Wed) to go check it out. 602-361-1744, I am a perfectionist and could find everything wrong with the car

But you see I'm not sure how many people would buy that for 7500 and the thing is if we start pointing out flaws then it will be easier to talk him down. But also he might have that price set in his head because he wants to buy an suv.

EDIT: Just found out I can do Thur as well.

I bet you could get him down to 7, but not much lower. But still, spending the extra money for the SSM seems more logical, it has low miles and is more solid and sound versus that wrecked inca one.

Edit: I wonder how firm the SSM guy is on 8100.....

Called the SSM guy and its already sold. Next lowest civie is a green coupe with 19k miles for 9700 obo. Which is a little high for me.

Dont worry you're comin with and maybe J.T. will too. Then I will have the big hitters backin me up. And of course my father will come too since I'm not 18 he has the final say in everything. But he is a good negotiator soo you never know.

Kyle-stay away from SSM, I would of if I'd known that everyone and their mother and brother and cousin's uncle had one. I mean, if you really like SSM, then go for it by all means! Has J.T. gotten in touch with you, yet? Green-BLAH! But, if you like the green, do it, baby!

Awesome Joey, pick out everything wrong with it!

Oh well, I think I decided to not buy it even before I check it out. I like SIs maybe I'll go after one of them.

But ya green isnt really my color, I like the blue the most, then black, then red, then inca, then ssm, then white, then the green
