New member to the forum, just got my 1st Honda ever. Need help getting her running
Hey I’m Tom AKA Trixxx
Miami born, high school Cocoa Beach, college Eastern Florida State college (formally Brevard Community college).
currently located somewhere in Alabama but am moving back home to south Florida in the next few weeks to maybe 2 months at most till I am back in the bright, salty, sexy beast we all call home.
got me a blue 2004 coupe, 1.7l automatic and she is basically bone stock, dirty, and still needs some parts replaced. So I am definitely in need of y’all’s knowledge, experience, love, inspiration, and (let’s be honest here) any spare parts y’all may have collecting dust or is just some stock you upgraded and no longer want.
will get some pictures for you guys tomorrow.

Welcome! I had my 2003 coupe for a few months now and done a ton to it and it’s not ending yet.
watch out for those head gaskets and use OEM fluids in the coolant and trans. Go from there and good luck.

If it has a knock check out posts for setting valve gaps. Easy enough to DIY with a feeler gauge, 10mm wrench and a flat screwdriver and a little patience. If it’s never been done it needs it. If setting the gaps doesn’t help you may have a bad valve, or maybe one of the Honda experts can chime in.

I did provide some input on another one of his posts. The general conversation can be resumed there.
