a lil outta context...but this is a paste from my EasyJournal i posted earlier today. any comments are welcomed...
"...so i left too after taking Lenny to Don Reid Ford to drop some keys off. on my way home i hit I4 and decided instead of getting off on Colonial to get off at Aloma in Winter Park so it'd be a more direct route possibly. baaad idea...reallllly shitty bad ****ing idea! (please excuse the langauge)
driving thru the twisties, minding my own business. stopped at the red light at Park Ave. & Aloma with a silver older Explorer and an old man. we both left the light and began noticing that we were side by side. damnitt all...everytime this guy sped up when i did and slowed when i did as well. it was getting to be annoying, not to mention UNSAFE to continue this trend thru the winding NARROW roadways!!! grrr...so i attempted to gain distance on the guy and low and behold there's a God-Damn Winter Park Police Officer's car just BARELY sitting outta view. by the time i caught onto the reflective paint, i was too late. i passed him after hitting the brakes subtly and he didnt really pull outta the driveway. GOOD?!? idk.
so i slowed waaay down to 37mph in this 35 zone and set the cruise. a couple turns later (btw, NOW the SUV is waaay ahead of me go ****ing figure) i began to see a car riding my *** slowly getting closer. SHIIIIT it was LED turn signals on the inside of headlights (aka, COP) i was ****ed!
i guess he ran my tag before hitting the lights and pulling my *** over cuz he was riding my tail for a good 1/2 mile or so. anyways, i pulled over immediately with brakes, turn signals, turning the lights to parking lights only and then turning off the engine, rollin the windows down and putting on my hazards (standard procedure when being pulled over IMO)...the guy walked cautiously up to me and said Hello all nice and **** (WTF?!?) he proceedced to bust me by saying, "the speed limit is 35mph here son and your were cruising at a speed of 47mph sir...we've been patrolling this area quite often as of late cuz of a couple deaths recently so you should observe the speed limit from now on...ill brb" (took the license, reg., & insurance to his car). "okay sir"
so there i was in some side street off Aloma a lil before Lakemont bowing my head in shame...AND cuz those damn spotlights on cop cars are MAAAD bright and eye-sores. lol. he comes back like 10 minutes later (about the time i cannot see for beans cuza his light thing) and issues me a citation. i sign for it and i know the drill. my final thought was to ask a question..."officer, may i ask why you chose ME to get the ticket rather than the SUV that was side by side cuz on my first ever (and only previous to this 1) i was pulled over even tho 2 other cars were going the same speed as me." he proceeds to tell me, "sir, its officer discretion and i chose you because you were 2mph faster than the SUV that was beside you..yes, he was speeding as well, but you were going faster so it was you i busted." "ohh, okay officer...umm that works" "have a good night sir, and drive safe!!" "thanks, you too" *starts engine...drives home*
called Tara on the way home to explain my life-altering night and shes all sorry and ****..yadda yadda yadda... she was with Garcia and he didnt really have much to say except that it sux and that i should fight it...riiiight no thanx. the ticket was for the following:
Speed Limit: 35mph
Observed Speed: 47mph
Citation for: Speeding...$145.00 & 3 Points on my license
option im taking when i get the money: taking the online class for like 30 bucks and reducing the ticket 30% and erasing the points so insurance wont find out...cuz MY insurance JUST went down from $300+ to $165 a month which explains why i "ran" from the cops when we were caught on Sat/Sun night/morning. heh...imma shitty *** loser and this completely explains why. i shot myself in the foot tonite thats for certain."
well...thats the story. i hope this doesnt put a dent in co-hosting the next 7thGenCivicFL meet for all you guys here in Orlando. i hope i hope.... worst case scenario: i lose my Civic and have to go back to my Godd Am (94 slushbox Grand Am coupe). best case scenario: i somehow get blessed with a method of obtaining money (cuz i have $1.26 to my name currently
) and i get the next car payment taken care of as well as my ticket & points.
wish me luck and pray for me plz FL ppl!

What cops REALLY should do is sit outside liquor stores and electronics stores, and in the ghetto and WATCH for people getting raped/robbed and cars and homes getting broken into.
That's what their guns are for right? To stop criminals?
IMO cops are looking in a totally wrong direction.

To argue your point your right they are looking the wrong directions. There's a lot worse things that could happen then someone trying to pass a vehicle on the highway.
The other point is, my teacher was an x-cop, and he said that they right tickets to get money. Nothing more then that.

"You were going 2 mph faster" What a crock of ****!! If there were circumstances to where someone would've had to control their vehicle in an emergency at that speed, I be "All In" on the Vic over a bigass SUV.. If he's writing a ticket for "safety" reasons, he would 've considered that. All for money, I'll agree to that.. Good luck bro!
