I dunno lundam. I went to an audio shop here and they told me kicker comps are good subs. Whats this dual 2ohm and stuff? I know Im an EXTREMELY newbish to this audio stuff. I know absoulty nothing.

Get The Kicker amp that goes with it.
Remember the more amps, speakers and power you'll have to get a better battery, alternator, caps.

there isnt really a kicker amp that goes with it.

and as to the alternators, batteries, caps, all that stuff , ive run upwards of 2k rms with no problems and only upgrade being an optima red instead of the stock batt

Whats the difference between a ported box and a sealed box? Im getting 2 subs for my bday as you know and amp and a box but what kind should I get?

first i gotta know which model of kicker comps youre gonna get.

kicker comps are really low-mid quality subs, so the amp wont cost all that much money

as to box, i could get technical, but i wont

sealed isnt as loud as ported, but theres more sound quality there
ported gets louder and goes lower, but it sounds boomier. theres less clarity and defenition to the bass

thanks man. so i will get the ported box then. sorry for being such a noob. the shop im gettin it from this one audio shop for $700 which includes 2 subs, amp, box, and installation. that a good price?

comp vr's (next level up from comps) go for 150 a pair on ebay brand new

comps go for 90 a pair on ebay brand new

an amp for them would cost you 200ish max

wires are 40 bucks

box is 60 or 70 online.


so if you go for the comp vr's thats 470 online, 400 for the comps..

youre paying 300 for an install

for that price id do a full fiberglass trunk if i lived in tampa.

also im gonna be honest with you, youre gonna want those subs sealed, because they just sound like utter *** ported. all you hear is boom boom and no defenition in notes.

**EDIT** since i know jack sh** about this crap, point out some good kicker subs and amp for me. can you do that. i appriecate it man. i want 2 12's and whatever 1 or 2 amps that i will need. one more thing how long will it take you to install 2 12's and amp with all the wiring and the box? a few hrs? maybe i can drive down there and you can do it for me. i dont care about driving cuz i love to.

sim. dotn get the kicker vr's i was gonna get those and got the new sony instead yes sonyt suck but they didnt sound as bad as the kicker subs.. get sealed box if u do. and install is easy if u buy the bos/sub's,wires, etc i can install for u in like 1-1.5 hours max but best thing would be go ahead and get fiberglass trunk now instea dof box ow and trunk later.. and make sure if u get new subs then u def need new 6x9's and new 6.5's and then run new wiring for the 6x9's and 6.5's and then get new tweeters for all of it. sim if i were u call up nikc R i can give u his number if u call me and he has nice 6x9's and 6.5's and tweeters and wiring for all for sale . but i know u like new stuff... also u need the headunit install kit. i bought the metra kit from partsexpress.com and omg it looks sooo OEM same color exactly kinda hard to get it to fit perfectly but once u got it damn it looks good. and u can use ur EX closing drawer!..anyways ttyl.

Yeah dude, Lulam and WhiteRabbit know this in's and out's of the ish; back, forth, sideways and inside out, they know there stuff. As far as my project goes, they have been helping me out alot, but right now I'm in the process of switching apartments and also I am lacking a drill due to my roommates moving out. So not much work being done on my custom trunk right now.

Ohh and Ludlam dude, if I was down in So. Fla. right now I would def. hit ya up being an apprentace. Perhaps if I am down there for Winter break, you can teach me some ****.

Hey Ludlam got another question for you. I measured my ps2 and my glovebox. The ps2 fits in there so Im gonna put it in there temporialy cuz Im gonna mold it into the dash just above the glovebox just for now I want it in my glovebox so when Im at shows I can play ps2 so my question is what do I do to get my ps2 hooked up to my lcd screen so I can play? I heard you just need an inverter? Thats sounds to easy. Gotta be more techincal than that right? Thanks man. I.C.E. guru

well, if you just want video, its just a video cable and an inverter...

it seems i may be making a trip to tampa in september for doing work

i talked to krayzielx and bluedragon, and both want work done from me. if i can get a place to stay, and if one of you has a garage for me to do work in, i could go from a thursday to a monday. i go to school monday through thursday nights, so i could leave tampa late late night monday, or early tuesday.

i could go before, but krayzielx said hed be out of town till the 25th.

i was thinking if enough of you want crap done, i could go on labor day weekend, because it would give me an extra day to do work..

I kinda want it done before September 13 cuz theres a show here in Tampa and that ps2 will be a nice mod. I gotta keep up with Hector and beat him. If we do it at my house, my house is right off the hwy where your coming from so its easy to find. Not like you gotta take 20 turns. September 1st is labor day right?
