DON"T press the brake and hit the gas when the light turns green...if ur racin' someone u definitely won't get a hop off the line, nor will ur car accelerate faster...the tires will spin a little bit and u'll have ur *** handed to u before u know it...
Trust me, I have an AT, and i race at the sac raceway now and then, I've did that a couple of times and it doesn't help...I'm speaking of drag strip experience...

just power brake it mang. Hold ur brake, press gas and hold both till 2500 rpms and let go of brake and maybe u get a lil jump. Just use power braking to chirp ur tires from a stop sign thats uphill or in the parking garage at the mall.

Let's see, racing w/ an automatic is pointless at best, especially wit our cars. Power brake, neutral drop, and D3 it all you want, it ain't gonna matter. Deal with it.
I dont think holding the break helps at all...tried it a few times and found i get better times off just having it in D3, redline it then drop it down into 2 and just keep it there...it'll be like an hour but you'll get to 60mph in no time
