Highway Killa!
I was cruising down I-35 going to Kansas City and this Civic SI deal pulls up beside me. This is how it went down:
He revs his engine, I wave goodbye.
He notices my Probe pulling on him fast-like.
I hear him gun it.
I pop it into 5th.
He = driving an auto = The sux.
I'm flying around all kinds of cars with him trailing behind.
Then we get to an open stretch and we're both around 100.
Blah, after that I pulled on him something major and his limiter kicked in.
Ownage. :devil:

Rep Power: 375 Yeah, there is no auto SIs in the US. It was more than likely a SOHC with a SI sticker on it. And racing though traffic is stupid. You think its ok, but one of these days you will learn the hard way. Thats why when a ricer flys by me, I call the cops, give them the LP number and decribe the car.

That's just ridiculous. I know it's not safe, but that's kind of an assholish thing to do. Do you call the cops whenever you see any car speeding? I drive the freeways a lot, and stupid corollas pass me, I had a bike barely hit me going at least 50mph faster than me about an hour ago.. **** happens.. whether they are speeding or I am, what is accomplished by reporting on them, a cop wont find them, youre wasting your time?
To everyone that feels this way: Keep this opinion to yourself, if we (or at least I) wanted to hear your sermon about it we would ask what you thought. Dont flame becuase you dont like how he raced, this makes you just as bad as the others that you guys hate on for flaming about other things.

I'm saying if I was driving in mild traffic in a 65 speed limit area, and some d*ck blows through doing well over 100 mph and weaving in and out of traffic, then hell yeah I'm going to do something about it. I've had to many friends and family get hurt by dumbasses like that. I know the difference between speeding and just being stupid.

Yes i drive a probe, so maybe we can relate to the amount of **** you have to put up with.
as to the si's being manual/automatic...**** if i knew. i just went by what i heard coming from the car, and what i saw on the backside.

Rep Power: 0 Ug. Enough, I thought I'd get more flame for that. However, some of us are cautious, even at 110mph (if you even consider this cautious).
I just mean that he posted a highway story and you jumped on him, just like most other threads. Just say "..." or a frown smiley, or something, I'm not really picking on just you, I just hate it when I read down the list expecting a reply that was worth having taken the time to read and ending up reading another "that was stupid" remark. Free speach, blah blah.. I dont bash poeple who say "keep it on the track", it's that persons style, let him be.
There will always be speeding and always be street racing, it will never end, racing hasn't since the 40's, it's wasted time to fight it.

As for flaming, just take a look at Kat's first post. He's obviosly picked a Civic site to tell us how his Probe "dusted" a Civic. We've seen that sort of thing before. Gotta expect flames. But now the guy has changed his tune and want's to "commisurate" with us cause we all get ragged on. Hmmmmm.
I just find that somewhat disingenuous. Maybe I'm a bit harsh from all these years of posting on political boards, but I'm certainly not going to let people come around and trash my Civic pals, without I give them a hard time for it.
If they survive that and learn to respect us, then fine. If they don't survive, maybe they really didn't belong here. IMHO
