Here's the story....My little bro and I are cruising back from the gym which is at the air force base where my dad flies things with massive horsepower about 20-30min away depending on traffic and we come up on a black Z32...Sweet car, stock from all appearances...no air dams for the intercoolers so I assume it's naturally aspirated...The license plate has a simply stated WRTHY...hmmm...this guy must be dillusioned into thinking he has a fast car....We come to a red light and I decide to show respect to a car with more torque and rwd and on the green I just gave my car enough gas to shift into second at a respectable 3k rpm...The guy appeared to be waiting to see what this ricer would do and after he figured I wasn't gonna race him just left me behind until we met up again at the next light.............

at the next light we are by ourselves....no traffic...no cops....not really much of anything....
I decide what the heck I 'm gonna lose...I'll see if he wants to race...

**on a side note I have driven a Z32...the same car with a Jim Wolf ECU...twin Greddy SP CatBacks and a number of other minor bolt-ons...my buddy claims 265 at the crank...his car is plenty to beat mine...but a stock Z32 with 225hp and a ballpark 3500lbs is pretty slow...however I don't dare to dream that my civic is faster....

anyhow....I roll 1st gear to see what he does and he does the same...waiting to see what I will do....so what the heck...the guy has his wife in the car, a license plate that says WRTHY and a car that is clearly faster then mine...let's see how he drives....

he sucks....1st gear neck and neck...2nd gear I pull a foot...3rd gear I pull half a car....he lets off.....this is pathetic....please let's switch cars real quick and I will gladly make his wife proud by leaving my civic about 4 car lengths back....

obviously not very WRTHY....oh well....I had fun and even though I didn't deserve to win....however I did win(if you want to call it a win/kill/or any other various descriptions of crappy street races) because he can't drive for anything....

I must say I feel bad for the guy b/c he probably thinks his car is slower then a civic now...very sad...

I have noticed that the comment "maybe he was driving normally" is the first thing said after everyones story....

ummm....nope...really come on....I'm not stupid, it doesn't take a whole lot of experience to know when someone is racing and when they aren't....

if any one didn't know, that a Z32 is a 300zx. they come in Twin turbo and NA naturally aspirated, witch mean no turbo. i though they had 222 horsepower... i raced my friends NA with my dads tl type s and i took care of him easily. he has a intake, high flow cats, with mendrel bent piping, pullies, and upgraded transmition. i love it so much, but i can't tell him, it will just make him know that he has something that i want. even though he also makes fun of my civic... its ok... i still love my civic even though it is slow...

Well now Brandon, it appears to this ole flamer cat that you are flaming just to try and get flamed back. Be that as it may, maybe the guy really was just driving normally and you sweating and revving and shifting as hard as you could, thought he was racing. Maybe if you got an auomatic trans you wouldn't get so stressed.

..... when people say "maybe they werent racing?". Thats a load of ****, our 0-60 time is 7.9. Not KIA sephia 12 second 0-60 style... people will notice when you open up your car. I have raced a GT mustang and they ran beside me (he was a friend of mine, we raced three times 2/3 he lost). Some people actually do not know how to drive, I know its horrifying but there really are people that are just that bad... like this one guy drove my car once.. and hed floor it til 5.5k RPMs and then drop the clutch and bring it into the next gear as hard as he could.... and I was like :-\ what the hell are you doing...

It really really pissed me off....as you saw...

1.) I know when someone is racing me
2.) I know when I should lose(hell i still race anyhow)
3.) I never claimed I won
4.) I'm not a disillusioned ricer who thinks my civic is fast as hell
5.) I belong to a widely respected University of Florida racing club (we autocross,drag,
etc.Gainesville International Raceway, no show cars) with guys that I have learned a lot

6.) I don't put up with bullshit...I'm tired of seeing people flame someone for writing a story
about something they experienced and everyone tearing them to shreds...I've read too
many stories and see too many people get torn apart for things they saw and
did...seriously you would have to be really retarded to race a car that was just "driving
normally" so the line "maybe he's just driving normally" is really really f-ing stupid.
7.) If i had said I tore off the line and beat a z32 straight up that is one thing...but I said that
I should have lost....driver error accounts for a lot....fast car, stupid driver = slow times

I replied a month later b/c I moved up to Washington DC for an internship and had not checked the board since then..
