Smoked out and busted.
I was up in Ohio riding around in my Firebird Formula and heading into Macedonia. I used to live in that area and knew that town was a speed trap. Approaching town and stopped at a red light, a kid in a black midsize Chevy pulled up next to me in the lef lane. I told my girlfriend to watch and what was going to happen. Just as I figured, the kid took off lke a bat out of hell from the light, while I just took off in a normal manner. At the next light you could see that a little ways ahead, the left lane was blocked with orange construction barrels and there was a left lane ends sign. So I looked over and said again to watch. When that light turned green I mashed down pretty good and easily passed the kid , forcing him to pull in behind me. I had stayed in the right lane all along.
Now for the funny part. When the left lane opened up, we were into the town and here came tne kid, weaving in and out of traffic and doing a ricer fly by on me. My radar detector was going off, and I saw a cop on the side street at the third intesection into town. The cop pulled out and had the kid pulled over in the median about a block and a half later, right in the "downtown" part of Macedonia. I just tooted my horn and smiled as we drove by.
My girlfriend was impressed since I had been telling her how you can often predict what other drivers are going to do, an how you can smoke out a dumb driver. The kid had local tags and shoulda known better than to pull that **** around there. He apparently was pissed being beat out at the closed lane, and I bet he was reallly pissed when he got nailed by the cop.
