1/8 track ?!?! what they cheap on the other half ? Don't confuse people with times... I'm already fustrated enough with canadians using KM and US using Miles and the temperature as well... go for 1/4 plz
A lot of places have 1/8 mile tracks. They dont have a full sized strip, so they use empty parking lots and such. San Diego is that way. We have legal 1/8 mile racing on weekends down at the charger stadium. It may not be full 1/4 mile, but its a lot safer then doing a 1/4 on the street.

Alright boys. Settle down. CivicRacer5, if you need someone to host the slip i can get it posted. Injencivic, give the guy a chance. I have yet to see this guy lie. He doesn't strike me as a black99vtec wannabe.
All of the little independent tracks in Tennessee are 1/8 mile because they can't afford the insurance for 1/4 mile racing anymore...
10.60's are pretty stout for 1/8th mile in an LX
note to injencivic: you need to get down to Knoxville Dragway on Thursdays when it is sport compact night. We went this week and there were about 500 cars there

nice time...i believe him...i ran 10.6@66mph in my echo =o)....went to the track in my spec-v...remind you im 1500ft above sea-level...with 2.5 60''s i ran 10.1@70mph....i dont think the track was prepped really well i couldnt give it ANY gas at all without it leading to wheel hop half way through 2nd....but anyways man! NICE TIME! =o) post a slip if you can ide like to see it too!
Yep. Most of the tracks here are 1/8 miles and people build their cars for that. It's a whole different ball game than 1/4 mile. Huntsville and Sand Mountain are both 1/8 mile tracks. If you're used to 1/4 mile, when you first see the times it's ridiculous, until you realize the track length.
Back home the first drag strip that opened was 1/5 mile at Winfield West Virginia. That's cause they counldn't find enough flat ground to build a 1/4 mile and shut down room in that area.

my best time in the 1/8mile was a 10.42 at 66.86mph, with a 2.495 60ft, and a terrible 1.022 R/T. Yeah i killed the R/T pretty bad, but on a run later that night i had a .502 R/T...so i didnt feel too bad after that.
mid 10's arent hard to get in our car with a good driver. I have AEM CAI, and the HKS hiper exhaust...thats it in terms of performance.
Cheers~

Sorry everyone i lost my timeslips, but i am going back either wednesday or friday and i will be sure to save my time slips, and i gurantee i will run a better time, because i found out my K&N FIPK was not secured to the throttle body tightly because the rubber boot had loosened up and it was causing air to leak out and not get sucked in to the throttle body as much. I will run better than a 10.6 this time. I will post my new timeslips as soon as i get home from the track!!

YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS......I THOUGHT WE HAD THIS DISCUSSION????
SI DON'T MEAN THAT MUCH MAN. AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT A GOOD1/8 TIME IS BUT DON'T CALL BS ON SO LITTLE INFO.
YOU GO GET YOUR SI AND PAY 5000 MORE I''LL STICK WITH MY (IN MY OPINION AND MOST OTHERS) BETTER LOOKING DX. SURE I GIVE UP A GOOD # OF HP, BUT THINK ABOUT THE EXTRA MONEY TOWARDS MODS. OR A TURBO. HELL IF YOU'RE MECHANICALLY INCLINED....DROP A NEW ENGINE IN FOR 5000.
DONT BS.......HE SOUNDS FOR REAL
thanks alot 02civic i appreciate it, and i am for real, and when i go back to the track later this week and run even better then i will save the timeslips this time and post them for all you non believers!
