'02 civic EX / toyota celica GTS
The new Celica GTS is fast!! I know someone who has one, he can burn me & another friend (a 1991 Integra w/ I/H/E & flywheel)
& hang w/ a Prelude (H22A) w/ I/H/E
we all drive sticks & drive OK.
BTW, that was a stock Celica GTS. If you've driven it, you know how good it is; it handles like a dream & is WAAAY faster than our civics. Plus you can use heel/ toe w/ the pedal configuration. It's a real driver's car.
Why don't you guys just go to a Toyota dealer & take a test drive?(can't say 'bout the autos, though- haven't driven 1)

all of the celica autos are slow though. the auto gts is a 16 second car probably at best.

hey hondaguru, lick my bag. i wasn't trying to be a d!ck like you. i didn't say the celica is a dayum "god of all cars" or anything. i was just trying to put it in perspective what a 6-speed gt-s is compared to a auto gt-s.
i walked a 02 lx. yup, it happened. wasn't bragging or anything of the sort.
but i'll tell ya this, my celi would have handed your @ss to you so you could stick that rice ball you just coughed up, in it.
find you a celica GT running 14's with i/e? oops. i lied. the one in particular that i saw has intake, header, and safc. he ran a 14.7@93.4mph. go over to newcelica.org on the 1/4 mile list and look around for the name maelfyn. let's not forget the other celica GT's running low 15's too. and don't say that the safc made a BIG difference, because they don't. not on a GT or GT-S.
instead of being a total @ss about things, why didn't you just ask for me to prove that a GT runs 14's N/A? why go and talk **** about my ride? actually yes, the car did have quite a bit of downforce. rarely did i have a use for it, but I LIKED IT. why don't you go take a flying leap off a cliff somewhere? you'd be doing the world a favor.

FYI, your celica won't hand Joe his *** in a race any time soon.
And if you think that SAFC doesn't do anything, S2000's get 15Whp from them (and they are pretty strung out, so you can imagine what a less tuned celica could get from one), so if 15hp isn't much, I'm not sure what you consider a "gain".

i bet joe is that guy who has that video beating that viper on kazaa. i think i saw that elsewhere on this forum. so the guy spent a bunch of money on a civic hatchback and now he's a god because he runs 12's? i guess if i felt the need to run 12's and become an a-hole, i would have bought a supra or rx-7 and added BASIC POWER UPGRADES. race the celica i had in the twisties, and find out who would have their @ss handed to them.

2: a celica GT-S auto is a turd
3: a celica GT-S 6-speed will hand a 7th gen civic lx, ex, dx, etc. it's

4: the guy or girl that started this thread more than likely raced an auto GT-S.

B) cheesefrog spent a total of ~20K on his hatch (which runs high 10s, not 12s, asshat) INCLUDING the cost of the car.

and er.. I really dont see GT going into the 14s but eh.
the gearing on the celica is yucky.. even on the 6spd.. gotta shift your butt off...
imagine when they take away two gears.... yikes! 1st two gears are the same I believe... the 3rd and 4th are aiyah.
when I raced my friend in his auto GTS I realized what a bad choice he did in getting an auto GTS. my 127 hp car shouldn't be able to beat/hang with his 180 hp car.
(anyway thats a limited statement but yeah)
