lol, its not what u think.. it wasnt an Accent or anything
but i did lose tho... i was drivin up a small hill when i see a blue tiburon V6 fly by me and cut me off.(i would have let him go, BUT, he threw his hazards!!!) yup, he called me out! well, i went after him and got near him, and we were dead even! at this point i turn down my sound to listen if he downshifts, which he does, from 5th to 4th, and i go from 5th to 3rd! i got him by hella cars! BUT....... we lined up at the light.. well, at this point i was a little over-confident of myself and gave him a fenders lenght head start at the light the light turns green and my rpms arnt even high enough.
well, to make a long story short, i got killed by that tiburon... i mean, even tho it was a V6, i think i would have gotten him...
does anyone know how many hp's those tibbys have?

The new Tiburon V6 has 170hp, but weighs a bit more than a Civic. Assuming each driver knows how to drive, I would still expect the it to outrun a non Si, stock Civic, although it would be close.

Anyone in mississauga see that tiburon in the same plaza as executive snookers or kogawa japanese resto or H&H grocery? There's a tiburon parked there all the time with "Mugen Power" stickers [IMG]i/expressions/laugh2.gif[/IMG] ... if i were drunk, i would've thought that tiburon was a honda with a crooked "H" hehehehe

the old tibbys are pretty girly (anyone see the pink ones floating around?) but the new V6s are nice. although, i had fun putting one in their place last week. it was a black one and i came up behind him slowly, but creeping, and i could just tell he wanted a piece because he was in the left lane, i was in the right, and he was speeding up before i got to him (i was going the same speed the whole time, but i was closing slower and slower). then, right before he thought he had me reeled in, i threw it into third. i don't know if he was ready, and i don't really care, because as i went by, he got on it too. i was jogging by him, and he was in my rear view the whole time, no chance at catching me. and it was a V6 GT. i think any of you guys with I/E could definitely take the GTs.

if you are speaking to me, then no. i was on the highway, at a 60-65 roll. i had no trouble with him in my Si, so i think an EX or LX with I/E will be able to stick with a stock V6 Tib from a roll. i have no idea about off the line. never met up with one at a light.

i guarantee i could have gotten him off the line if i wouldnt have given him that head start. just becuz its a v6 doesnt mean its quick!
and besides, my rpms wernt high enough becuz i thought the light was gonna take longer to turn green.... but oh well... u dont have to take my word for it. next time i see him tho, best beleive he will get smoked!

Ya, but I have a V6 (mind you its not a tib) and I've been on the local highway and beat an SIR goign from 80 Km/h to about 120 km/h no problem .....So V6 does help....

well, not really, i've raced my sister's v6 stang(stick) and ive beaten it plenty of times..... and no, she wasnt driving it! i had her boyfriend drive it.

There's no reason to have a problem with the Hyundai name. Its my belief that Hyundai is no cheaper in quality than Honda, Toyota, etc. I mean, anyone here who has sat in a Tiburon or driven one can't honestly say that Hyundai is a crappy as it was 10 years ago. To be honest, I think that high end japanese auto manufacturers (especially Honda!) rip their customers off by overpricing each model by probably about $5k. I mean...$20k for a civic ?? My tiburon was $20k. My typical Honda friend ('03 Civic EX 2-dr. Auto) is always making cracks at Hyundai or the "crooked H", but we both paid about the same amount for our cars. Yet, he doesn't get leather, a V6 (with more than 90 ft. lbs. of torque, which Honda has yet to surpass), projector type low beams and fogs, a spoiler, subwoofer.... The list goes on and on. I'm not saying my car is better than his, but he is just so cocky about his reliable honda and how it seems that he only buys for the name. My $.02.

yo, same thing happened me to me kinda, i was turning onto a main road, and these two hot chicks were checking my ride out at a light, and when we make the turn, them on the inside lane, me on the outside, they just gas it, and i leave it in 3rd and gas it, and i was behind them cuz they had the inside lane, but other then that, itwas neck in neck, if it was a straight away, we'd be real close. too bad they got a hyundai, lol, those cars i think are nice looking but, the company i would never buy from
