Civic vs Cougar

well last night i was just driving following my friend he owns a rx-7 t.t.. well on the way back to his house this nice cougar comes flying by us and with that my friends punches it and flys right by him of course due to his twin turbo rx-7, well then my friend just goes straight home but i follow the cougar to get into a race. After flying by the cougar he then started to follow me until we hit a red light, well about 2 minutes later we end up at a red light and he pulls up to me reving his engine so i kindly rev my back all i know he had was a full exhaust on his cougar (his shi@t was loud) and probably a intake, we sit there holding until the light turns green, we both look over and see the other light turning yellow and ours about to turn green. So he decides to pull up some before our light turns green so i did the same and while we were both slowly rolling light turns GREEN~!~ i took him from 1st gear all the way to 3rd. I beat him by at least 3 to 4 car lengths. I thought the cougar would at least give me a little challenge but nope i killed him easy. Well thats my my encounter =].

Actually from the way you describe, you may have been running against an automatic cougar. i mean think about it, he was already flying past when your friend pulled on him and spaked his ***, then he was "rolling" on teh line waiting for the green? auto cougars suck *** worse than auto civics. I know its like apples and oranges, but i would have to do a neutral drop to spin the tires on the civic (never done after 1st trans was damaged) and now in the new car, jsut have to turn off the tcs control and punch the gas in 1st. even ill aggree on this one being the resident auto trans lover here that i would never buy an automatic cougar. my best guess if it was a standard cougar, with manual, it would be close, but if it was the v6, you would have had no chance.

You'd be surprised how fast those Duratec V6's are. They could whoop up on a fart-tipped/nasty aluminum wing park bench/spring cut civic.

I also doubt it was a V6. It just doesn't seem right since you beat him so easily.

You won cuz you flew by him. Yea, like he was even TRYING to race you. Yup, your headers high flo and all your bolt ons are gonna add real hp.

...and what does you imagining you beat a V6 Cougar Stick have ANYTHING to do with him owning an rx-7??
