Who would win?

In a race who do you think would win between a 00 and up Celica GT-S (6speed) or a 98 and up Prelude (5speed)? lets just say they are stock.

sorry this aint about a civic but i dont know where else to ask

the new celicas are quick, you can only mod them about as much as we can mod our cars right now. I think the gts has like 200 hp anyways. You'd kill the prelude in a GTS, preludes aren't as fast as most people think.

Its all about the driver i think. But if it came down to the cars then if its a 00' gt-s its all over, if not then it would actually be a close race. I wouldnt put any money on that one

i say the celica has the advantage. The celica has toque for a little car. While the prelude is heavy as a tank and only has around 150ft lb. Just remember toque wins races and HP sells cars.

That certainly explains why the S2000 usually pulls on the Mustang GT. 153lb/ft vs 302lb/ft.

Great point.

i think the prelude would lose in the low end due to its weight, but would win in the high end against the GT-S

prelude

[Prelude SH
Engine Type: 2.2L Aluminum In-line 4
Displacement: 2157cc
HP @ RPM: 195 @ 7000
Torque: 156 @ 5250
Valve Train: 16V DOHC VTEC
Fuel Injection: Multi-Point Programmed
Drive Train: Front Wheel Drive
Curb weight: 1,340 kg. (2,954 lbs.) MT

Celica GT-S

[ u]00+ Celica GT-S
Displacement: 1.8 (109.8), I-4, DOHC
HP @ RPM: 180 @ 7600
Torque: 130 @ 6800
Valve train: 4 valve/cylinder w/VVTL-i
Fuel system: EFI
Drive Train: Front Wheel Drive
Curb Weight: GT-S/6M- 2500lb

This is irrelevant. But my buddy has a 2k prelude (auto). and his brother HAD a 2000 Celica GTS auto also. the lude would really walk on it. but that's just because Auto GTS' really blow. Which is why this is irrelevant
