Raced a 2003 Mach 1.

I was coming home tonight, and I saw one of the new Mach 3's.
, Holy $hit, what a nice car. It was azure blue w/ the shaker hood and some bad @$$ 17"'s. He pulled out behind me from a residential neighborhood and I just kept staring at the car . I glanced at the old guy driving it, and saw him smirking a little, like "yeah, another sucker looking at my car". He pulled up next to me at the light and gave me a thumbs up. I told him he had a nice car, and asked him what the horsepower figure was on those. He said Ford claims its 305, but the way the car runs, it seems like it has a little more. I asked jokingly if he wanted to race, and he said sure. I was like, holy $hit, I wasnt serious, but ok. We didnt have anyone around us at all, (in the middle of the nowhere) and we had a good stretch of road to go on. So, eventually after hearing him rev the engine for a little bit, the light turned green and we both took off. We were dead even for around 25-30 yards, and then he started to pull away slowly. Then by the time 45mph came up on my speedo, he was starting to run away from me. At around 60-65mph, he was around 5-6 car lengths ahead of me. And, I can still hear the exaust from inside my car w/ the windows up. We both saw someone coming down the road in the opposite lane, so we slowed down and were driving next to eachother. I told him that was probably the best sounding mustang I have ever heard. We pulled over into a Caseys parking lot and he let me take a look at the engine and admire it for a while. I told him my brother and I were loyal mustang fans (I had an old 96 Cobra, and my brother just got a used Saleen) and it was cool. He said he had to go back to help his wife w/ something, but he told us to bring over my bros Mustang, and we could race him sometime. Anyways, that was my fun for the evening.

some guy came to our mustang meet tonight with a brand new black one that he had for 3 days and had no idea about anything about it. hes trying to sound smart but it was so obvious he just bought it cuz the dealer talked him into it. hes like, "the ac is a great ac in this thing!" and hes saying it to a bunch of mustang people who are thinking, "no ****...we have the same one". he also thought the stripe on the hood was to help air flow into the shaker scoop. he reved it up to 6000 rpm and kept it there for a bit long especially for being a new car...the guy obviously was a freaken 45 year old midlife crisis guy with his young wife/gf in the passenger seat just trying to show off especially since he said hes been racing it for the past 3 days...he asked what a cop would do "just a ticket, right?" someones like, "no, theyll arrest you, impound your car for a longass time and you can possibly lose your license".
i wouldnt be surprised if he get arrested, killed in an accident, or caught on fire from exploding the damn thing in the near future
but ya, reguardless, theyre beautiful cars and its ashamed anyone can buy them...what a waste
i did see one down here with a michigan plate on it like 2 days before it came out...guy said it was a test model or something he was taking for a spin down here to miami to show off...lol i asked to race but he said he didnt know the local cops

I dont like the rims in the BULLIT and that picture...
However, i do like mustangs (GT and higher) and would like to own one sometime to see how "bad" they really are.

And, I guess the cars are rated at 305 hp from Ford. People on the Mach 1 Forums have been dynoing them at around 295 rw hp, so I would say those figures are impressive.
