102mph in a 55mph zone in CA. This is someone I know from another board. The judge threw the book at him.

I'd say it depends on where you are in texas. I live around Dallas and most cities around there have a zero tolerance on "racing" or "excessive speeding" and you can really get screwed there.

i don't know about this person's record, but it must not have been that good...plus he was in a 55 zone...a friend of mine got a ticket for going 105 in a 70 (on I5 on our way to San Francisco)...she got about a $300 fine and a 30 day suspended license...and she was a total bitch to the judge...most people only got a 15 day suspended license and a $300 fine...so it definitely depends on the situation...

I know... 500 words, WTF is that. I spit out 1,500-2,000 word essays almost every other day on boring $hit.

I got a ticket for "100+". $301. I beat it though and got my fine refunded. You can read about it here.

Damn, yeah. The law can be harsh when a certain person is there to enforce it. I hate to admit it, but I push 113mph - 116mph almost every week on this certain stretch of highway. Hmm... Better guage that place for trooper hideouts again just to make sure.

got away with just driving school... no points. Needless to say, i learned my lesson. going that fast is a death wish for yourself and others.

my freind got pulled over doing 120 over the Cheasapeak Bay bridge. He was arrested and his car sat on the road at the bottom of the bridge. this was christmas eve of last year. He was arrested for a DUI. Eventually he spent 3 months in pre-release jail. he had 3 dui's. He no longer drinks or speeds. Why does everyone have to learn the hard way?

its not that bad everywhere but it does depend on the judge. one friend got a 104 in a 55, had it reduced to a 74 and ended up like $500 in the hole--lawyer too and not counting an insurance raping. my other friend wasn't quite so lucky i na different town. on his bike he was clocked at 113 in a 65 and when he went to court they straight arrested him -- ended up getting out doing weekends in jail all summer I NEVER SPEED IN THAT TOWN now

No, this is his first ticket. Apparently he just got his license less than a year ago.

In my opinion, a DUI should equal lifetime revocation of your liscense.

That fine sounds about right to me for going that fast.

I usualy woundnt say this to you because we are cool, but in this case, you deserve it. Why in the hell would you want to go that fast in a 55 mph zone?

In other words, DONT DO IT AGAIN.
