Actually I don't make an a$$ of myself on the site, and if you ask, most members will tell you I'm certainly not an a$$.
Since you have done nothing but attack me and my car in several threads now, I'm going to ignore you, as I won't get drawn into a pissing contest and drag myself to your level.

I haven't been around this site a lot lately since....well that doesn't matter, but I don't see how he was bashing the Vic. This thread was about the 350Z not the Vic. Personally I hate Honda but that is my opinion and I am entitled to it. As he is to his. If you don't like that he has his OWN opinion and can express it then you do not belong in this country.

People in really nice cars don't ever get pulled over there. (no offense to those who've been pulled over there)
That has always been true, and I've NEVER been pulled over in my S2k. Even on nights that they are marking cars and pulling them over for cruising, I get ignored by cops as they pull over every other car around me.
Last week I saw a Nissan 350Z pulled over.
hehe. ahem. nuff said. lol
Again, I'm in no way jealous of the 350Z, and IMO the S2k looks better, and as far as power goes??
My current record against the 350z is 3-1.

He got me by a carlength in a 75-130mph jaunt.
They have some great top end. But I was pulling slightly on him again when we shut down. Basically I pulled first, then he pulled slowly slowly slowly, then I pulled a bit, and we shut down.
I expect that I will lose to more Z's, but I will also get more wins. It's a great race between these two cars.

hmmm...350Z vs S2000? that would be a sweet race.
the S2000 is a sweet car though, i sat in one at the honda dealer, and it felt very nice, build quality and such.
only two things i dont like about the S2000:
1) convertible top, i hate convertibles, and i know there is an optional hardtop you can buy, but that thing is way too expensive, which brings me to number two,
2) the price. low $30k right? the price is actually fine for the car, but at least with the Z, you can buy a base model, $27k, that makes the Z a little more appealing.
not bashing, more like, post whoring

2001.
There is hardly any difference other than better stereo and glass rearview on the newest 2003 and the previous models. they got rid of the crappy all one-color interior they had for 2002. it's back to the way it was now. and they also brought back the silverstone metallic.

1) to the guy who said he has seen a lot of hummer's damn man same thing here in tampa fla. i have seen every color except white, dunno why but maybe they lowered price=more people buying the ~60k car.
2)i would love to be on the highway and see an S2000 and 350Z race. that would be great, plus i would love to see a 350Z at the drag strip.
3)does anybody know how much more the hardtop S2000 is? it would be less weight and i said it before but damn driving with the top down in wisconsin=me turned into popsicle

The hardtop for the S2k costs around $2500. But it ADDS weight, not subtracts it. lol. So an S2k with a hardtop obviously weighs MORE than one without.
I cruise with the top down any time it's at least 30's or higher. The car has a special heating mode just for having the top down on cold days. It's also designed to form a heat "bubble" and keep cold wind out of the car when the top is down. Crank that heater, and even cruising at 40mph on a 30+ degree day, you are warm after 10 minutes. Sometimes I even have to turn the heat down. The only part that gets cold is your head, somewhat. You can tell honda put a helluva lot of thought into this. How many cars do you know have a special clear shield over their tail lights, that has a shape and it's sole purpose is improving aerodynamics. On the tail lights! Honda put plenty of R&D into this car and it shows.

Actually the the hard top version of the S2000 is very rare here in the states and it would weigh less. A convertible car generally weighs more due to the motors and re-enforcements needed.

So you are ADDING WEIGHT with the hardtop. Get it?
All S2k's are convertibles. S2k=2700lbs. S2k with hard top=2760lbs.

From Honda.co.jp:
The S2000 hardtop is a prototype.
On the eve of a new millennium, Honda delivers supreme driving pleasure by merging all its cutting-edge technologies in a single new car ---- the S2000.
Exhilarating to drive, the S2000 creates a oneness between man and machine for intuitive response; a oneness with the wind, sights and sounds; and a solidarity with society through high-level safety and clean emissions.
Unprecedented driving pleasure for the coming century. New-generation, open-top sports driving.
A stylish hardtop is on display. Driving enthusiasts will experience a new kind of sports pleasure in the S2000, a car that will expand driving vistas in the 21st century.
And from another site:
News from Tokyo Motor Show
The new S2000 Hardtop has been unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show. Contrary to speculation, the hardtop is not a removeable one bbit is an integral part of the chassis. Honda will not be mass producing this version of the S2000 any time soon.

They did not look like these:
They are actually a hard top. It was in no way removable. Like I said thay must have been custom jobs. Which does not suprise me in the least considering the area I saw them in.

First i would like to know how my thread on the 350 Z ended up being about the S2000?! Second , Honda does make a hardtop version of the S2000. But as far as I know they are not here yet. They are kind of like the new beetle convertible Not here yet but definately on the way. Except the S2000 may already be here.

No. There is no production version of a hard top S2000.
The S2k was designed from the beginning as a convertible roadster. If it's not convertible, then it's not a roadster, and defeats the whole purpose of designing a roadster. The S2k has an extremely high X-bone frame, and reinforced A-pillar and roll bars. They are there because the car is a vert, and NOT a coupe. The very early designs, an optional coupe version was tossed around, but never built. And they aren't going to. Feel free to do a search on s2ki.com as this topic has been beaten to death.
The original SSM (the prototype S2k) was only DRAWN as an S2000 coupe, but they never even built one.
clicky clicky
Go there to see pics of the prototype and early designs of the S2000.
