Call me a race *****, but I got a guy I work with (senior in high school) who wants to pick on my winter car since he has no chance at the S. (i raced him once giving him a 5 car length head start, and still managed to blow by him by 60mph)

I won't push the car until after break in, but he wants to run me with his old V8 camaro. He has a shift kit (it's an automatic) and I believe 3.23 gears.

However, he's run at the track before, and his best run was a 16.5 or something like that.

I know the good old DX probably won't take him, but then again... I'm not exactly a slouch of a driver. Won't it be fun. hehehehe

lol, i bet if his best time is a 16.5 in a V8 then you could have a go at him. Damn near beat him by a couple cars, if the DX runs well. Damn i wouldn't like driving a civic after i had a taste of the S2000.

the DX's are mere 2-3 tenths slower than the EX's because of the weight differences..I've ran a 16.9 in my DX sedan which has an extra 130lbs of sound deadening and a 230lb me...

I agree with Mohawk. Should be a pretty good race. Racing is fun whether win or loose anyways.

I agreed. should be a good one.

DX, if anything, is faster than a LX.

Yeah, the car is only 12 hours and 39 miles old. The race will not happen until AFTER break in. I am nice to all my cars, whether it be S2000 or Civic.

with a 16.5 et I'm guess that it is a 80's modle, if that is true make shure that it is logn race beacause if it has the tpi option, it is going to be loaded with tq. Evan thou he has 3.23 he will probaly be strongest in the first part of the race. Good luck

Kniow what's funny? I actually had a 91 camaro v8 about a year ago before I got my dx...

If it is anything like my car was, you will lose... just being honest...

I hated my old car, probablybecause I got like 6 miles per gallon in gas, but yeah it was quick, although I'm not sure if the car you are talking about has the same engine as mine did, a simple 305.

Anyhoo, acceleration is the key...

I think his camaro is like late 80's or 1990 or something like that. It's not an LT1, that I know. And though he can squeal his tires like mad and the butt dyno tells you the car is fast.... it's not. The butt dyno lies.

If its the V6, I'd go for it. Sounds like a close race to begin with, just be safe and all...i'd do it, cuz if he got beat w/ a civic DX....that'd make your day...haha...have fun!!

Either way, the civic is better

By the way, in my dx, the gauges were different then the other trim levels. If possible, can you post a pic of your gauges? I'm just curious...
