Something tells me you haven't been reading most of the posts because we've been over this. Yours is a realistic outcome assuming it was either older than '99 (150hp) or was an auto. However, if it was a manual and 99+, he SHOULD have owned you, if he could drive that is.

Magazines are useless. You say it's been proven at the track as well, please post some timeslips of these stock GT's running 13s. And stop rounding down the ETs so much

1) I never asked for Mustang timeslips from you so that comment made no sense.

2) I'm not getting defensive about my stang being "SLOOOOOOOW." I never said anything about my stang and would admit that your NOS'ed Civic is faster if you produce some slips. I was just pointing out how ridiculously naive your comment about Mustangs was.

UPDATE: You know what I realized..... SUPRA's are SLOOOOOOOOW because I can beat old automatic ones.

What's your setup cause most the civics I've seen spray only pull low 15's except like 1 guy on here who got some 14's.

not ALL mustangs are slow either. thats a terrible generalization. More appropriate would be STOCK base model mustangs are slow. cause stock for stock I'm pretty sure they'll beat a civic. not to mention the GT, Saleen, or cobra models. I HATE ford and mustangs don't get me wrong but thats as bad as the people who say All celicas are slow.

also remember you are new to this site you should be a little more courtqous yourself

Ok, im new here but ill help you with this, even a v6 will beat your civic unless u planning on NOSing. even with the extra weight and everything it will beat you. I used to have mustangs until my insurance carrier dropped me. Although i had a GT and a cobra. a buddy of mine had a little 6 and trust me in a striaght away ull loose. although like that one guy earlier said if u race him through corners u might be able to take advantage of the v6 mustangs sloppy suspension...either way be safe if you gonna race

oh and i actually just read some of these ridiculous comments and i had to post again.... i have been running stangs all my life and i can gaurentee you that u wouldnt ever be a gt even with nos....and just to clarify im not knocking civics, cause i just bought one, but unless u have a 300shot of NOS and a miracle a civic is going to be hard pressed to beat a stang.

Oh and my GT bone stock at the track ran a 13.87@105

ok well maybe i missed the post but what mods u have on ur civic which puts you into the high 14s?....again i am new to civics soo i apoligize for my ignorance about them....but i know from driving stangs ive never come across a civic to run my GT although thats not the main point of the thread, of course if mr civc cant **** it aint gonna be much challenge...but for all the ignorance displayed in this thread about people not liking mustangs because they are slow...i have nothing to say but this.....

The point is not that he CAN"T beat old auto GT's, because if he runs 14's, then he can. The point is that he generalized that 'Mustangs are slow,' which now that I think about it, probably isn't worth arguing about because anyone who would say that the most often modified car in the US (unofficially) is slow, is obviously not the sharpest crayon in the box. Well, it would probably make him the broken one, thats that nasty brownish gold color that the runty kid gets stuck with.

It's okay Blaine. Just ignore him. He doesn't know jack and so does some of the people here. Arguing is just a waste of time when the person you're arguing with is ignorant.
Watch out though, they're gonna come up with something like "at least my car doesn't fall apart after a few days."

And apparently you don't read so good.

Number one not only have I been to the track, but I have set one of the best times ever in an S2k on the track at 13.79. Number two, I have a friend who I race a lot at the track with his stang GT. Sometimes I win sometimes he wins.

Number 3, I was the one SAYING that a GT CAN hit 13's, so learn to read before you open your mouth.

The new V6 convertible automatic Mustangs are a wannabees dream. Sure they can beat a stock civic, but not by as much as they should. Considering the price tag and the fact that it's a sports car vs an economy car it should be a complete walk and it isn't. But that's all these losers that buy them want, to drag race 17 year old kids in economy cars and beat them. If they ever pulled up next to a real sports car they'd wet themselves.

I've seen Sentras smoke those v6 mustangs handily. The Cobras, however, are the real deal.

As I have said before, V6 Auto Verts are 16.5 sec cars (saw one run a couple 17.5s at the track last week) because of weight and the crappy auto tranny. The Manual Coupe's however are low 15sec cars with good driver. My first time to the track I went 15.5 with exhaust and heavy 17's with a crappy 2.3 60ft. With a good launch (2.1) I'll be pulling LOW 15's all day. So, yes there are a ton of cars, including stock civics, that could beat an auto vert, but the difference between that and a Manual Coupe is bigger than you'd think.

Basically, Manual Coupe>>>>>>>Auto Vert

Oh, and anything V6 pre-99 has only 150hp stock

Finally, Yes, the Cobra's are the real deal. My friend put down 371whp w/ only an air filter, only 15 mins of cool down after an hour drive, and 85 degree Florida Heat!!!!
