well ive taken a base auto RSX with chip and intake from a 45mph roll. im also a auto with just SRI and greddy evo ii exhaust. say what you will but i did it 2 times at 45mph and after around 75-80 did he start inching. i think its due to my car downshifting to second and him being in 3rd gear.

i have a manual ls and i dont think there is any way you could beat him unless he is just a horrible driver. even in an auto he has less weight and more power. i recently swapped to a 97 cr-v b20b with ls intake mani and exhaust mani. the motor is rated @126hp and 142ftlbs but that is with the restrictive cr-v intake and exhuast mani. with the swapped mani's i should be at the same if not more hp than the stock ls with about 20+ more ftlbs. but ill tell you i would walk any 7thgen short of a k-swap

i think you guys are forgetting about gear ratios. it may have more power but the gearing in the autos werent engineered to go fast keep in mind, just to ride smooth. on the other hand manuals have a sportier 'feel' to it because they have more 'race bred' gear ratios. my 2 cents. i ran a stock ls manual when i was n/a and i won. but why am i even saying that because everyone calls bs on everything i kill. =/ lol

the reason why is becasue the ls is about a second faster stock for stock. i can see it happening if the guy cant drive for shizz and your good. but i drive an ls and i own a es1. even with I/H/E and cat pipe with flywheel and clutch in the es1 it would get raped by my teg. i mean raped. i know its not an auto but auto makes it easier not to f up your launch and its only a 4speed auto. i have raped plenty of d series in my es1 as well but b series motors are a lot stronger....
