Rep Power: 240 Killed a Mustang Fri. night
So I was on my way home from poker fri. night and this 97-98 mustang pulls up next to me at the light and starts reving his engine and I look over and said oh really. So I rev up to about 3500and when the light turns green I drop the clutch and let her go. I left him at the launch but he pulled on me through his second but he didnt have anything after that. I went from 2nd to 3rd and began pulling on him even more. I beat him by a car and even missed the shift from 3rd to 4th and had time to but some distance between us. I havent raced in a long time it felt good to kill a mustang.

Rep Power: 240 Nah he had a manual. He had an exhaust on it but thats all I could tell. I am running I/H/E and VFACII. That was the first time I actuall luanched against someone since I put the coilovers on and I def. could tell the difference in the stability and the response.

Rep Power: 0 Then i would really like to run you because that is very close to what i'm expecting out of my car also. And even if i did lose, you just spent almost $6k on your swap, and i have a stock rebuilt motor for under $1k with bolt ons.
And since when will a stock k20 run low 13's? They might, but i can't say i've ever heard of it. My buddies 03 rsx-s with dc race header, hks hi power catback, intake, motor mounts and k pro would only run 13.9. How much heavier is an rsx over a civic?

my buddy ran his stock 5.0 at mid 14s like u say..now he runs 12.9 all motor right now.
I did not brag about beating a 5.0, I have never raced one. And notice that I did not say beat I said completely **** on, translated that mean beat by a large margin. As for the new mustang gt I would say drivers race with the mustang advantage from a dig, drivers race with my civic advatange from a roll. Either way it would be close.

Rep Power: 226 The mods for my K20 are a AEMv2, a strup race header that is nicley heat wrapped (no catt), Shortshifter, Hasport engine mounts (alot stiffer no wheel hop), and Kpro that will be tunned. All of this will get me around 200whp tunned on a Mustang Dyno (these dynos are based on realtime and conditions and are consistantly atleast 10-15% less whp that a dyno Jet). Converted it would make my car around 250 crank hp. I have lightened it by alot, right now it weighs less than 2650lbs. So say 250 crank hp at 2700lbs that is 10.8 lbs/hp. Lets compare that # to a new mustang GT 300 crank hp at 3450lbs that is 11.5 lbs/hp. The problem is that you guys have no clue the potential of this engine and this engine stuffed into a civic, it is great. Here is just a taste of some all motor Kswaps.

i believe 200 or so..but i could be wrong yes 200 lbs is roughly the difference. I took 100lbs off of my vic when it had the D17 to make that 300lb difference. The K20 weighs ~100lbs more than the D17 so I am back to 200lbs lighter. I am not running AC so between the AC unit, the condenser, and the lines I shaved around 35-50lbs. So my car is around 230-250lbs lighter than a RSX with about 40-50 more whp.
WTF, I am not trying to be an ***. I was really inviting you out to have a friendly race. How do you know that I don't appriciate american muscle?? And if you want to talk cost, my car is not a straight line car. I will let you drive my car around a track, a then tell me what you think. Trust me it holds its own agianst some very very pricey cars.

Rep Power: 0 Well when you said, i **** on mustangs, that to me, sounds like being an ***. From a dig, i would def. have an edge, but from a roll you have the edge. My buddies rsx could only pull off a 2.3 60ft time. I'm sure that this could be improved with a better driver, but i'm hoping for 1.8x's. Now don't get me wrong, i absolutely love the k20 engine, the ivtec on my buddies rsx make that car stupid fun. Especially now with the kpro, its like nitrous when it kicks in. I think you would be very surprised at how well my car handles, because i have tried to create the best all around suspension possible, being for the street, track, and autocrossing. If i'm ever about to head up there, i will get a hold of you, and i would love to run you. I'm down for any race if its for fun, especially with a car that is dead on what i'm expecting to run.
My last question is how the hell did your swap only cost $4k? I've been lookin for a swap for my g/f's 01 ex, and its gonna be at least 7-8k it looks like.

Rep Power: 0 Everyone talks about horsepower to weight ratio....what about torque to weight ratio which is what really matters when getting off the line. By the time the torque quits out on the mustang the race is almost over anyhow plus rearwheel drive is the biggest adavantage to someone who knows anything about driving
