Stock ones don't, but a simple chip can make far faster than stock.
Most Si's are in the mid 15's.... then agian most people cann't drive very good...

dude awesome logic.your friend did not dyno 220whp STOCK. PERIOD. the GTi doesn't even f*cking make 220whp at the CRANK stock!

and by the way, i'm sure he's "raping" S2k's all day with his GTi. I have a video of me and a GTi modded with downpipe, boost controller, intake, GIAC, and exhaust. I have the top down and he barely pulls on me at first from a roll, and then I start to pull back on the top end. from a stop, it's no contest. he gets destroyed. and that's with a bone stock S2k.
lol not like that has a damn thing to do with this thread anyways. you're just pissed cuz your liar friend got called on his bullshit and he made you look like a fool.

si also makes 170 to the wheels after 6k rpms. I'm sure the gti has more power down low. Surprising the si even won, but like everyone says, chip the gti and its no contest.

did i say that? you got confused there s2kman....
also german cars are really underrated, all these mags rate jap cars so fast n **** when they arent. i remember seeing a dyno chart on vw vortex of some dudes stock gti 1.8t and he was around 190 to the wheels....i'll try to find it later on

however, what was the point of your post then? it makes no sense, nor does it have any bearing on this thread....
by the way, most GTi's dyno in the 170 range. regardless, in stock form, they are 15 second cars.
gti are kinda ugly, from the exterior to the interior, and the power isnt all that great... anyways, to put a bov on it, u cant do it like u could on any car, someone said about putting it like upside down, i could be wrong, some one correct me, please--- confused about that

couple things need to be cleared here. First off the new GTI Mark V is faster than the 06 SI. why? The GTI has 198 ft tq and the 06 si only has 148 ft tq.
Also the GTI auto is faster than the stick shift! why? you might ask again. Well its simple the new GTI mark V auto isnt an auto at all but a "DSG" transmission out of the audi Rs4!!! The new GTI is packed full of new technology that justifies its higher price than the SI.
the DSG GTI runs 6.7 0-60 and 1/4 in 14.9
^this is without the launch program upgrade which VW will make availible on all 07 GTI's so shave another 1/10 of the 0-60 time. The GTI's in europe right now are actually faster than the american version. The GTI in europe also handles better as well, I might add.
As for the new SI it catches up to the GTI in the 1/4 boosting a time of 15.1
So clearly thats a stick GTI and in that case driver skill descides who wins. 0-60 in the SI is 6.8 according to motortrend a wopping 1/10 of a secound differnce. remember the GTI DSG will allways nail 0-60 time of 6.7 without a professional driver. just flip the damn paddles monkeys!
As for the s2000 its in the 5 secound range from 0-60 and runs the 1/4 in the very low 14's so theres no way a chipped VW will beat an s2000. I beat a modified GTI in my moms lexus Rx330 SUV lol
In the end a large part of most races is driver skill especially when numbers are close.
