Rep Power: 231 Can you launch in an auto? If so, how?
Last summer I took my car for the first time... 18.3/18.1 @ ? was horrible... only got a couple of runs but my reaction times were horrible... 1.4 and .8 the second time. Gotta get used to the lights. Anyways I did want to take my car to the track one last time before I convert to 6sp. I have to change my wheels too... ran on 17's and had my subs/amp in my trunk.

Rep Power: 0 2 ways to launch auto
1- put it in N and rev it up to like 4000rpm then drop it in D......i might want to let you know that that will kill your tranny
2- hold on break and gas it.....mine goes up to 3000rpm when holding the break. duno how others are but mine is stock.

Rep Power: 261 My wifes civic used to go to about 1800-2000 RPM. With the turbo i put on there, she would be making 7 psi of boost right there. And she could launch the **** outta that car. She would kick my *** off the line, but i would pass her shortly thereafter.

Rep Power: 0 I have stock 01LX auto...I raced (carbonfly) 02EX manual with aem intake and tanabe exhaust in the 1/8th mile track
He only beat me by like .6 seconds which was like quarter panel length
We ran like 3 times..same thing. His slips are posed in his member ride pics
Wait I was wrong his time was 11.01 and mine was like 11.4. This was like 2 years ago before he had vtch controller and his new fipkn...but still not worth the money

Rep Power: 0 yeah on the street ive tried launching higher and i end up spinning too much but like i said that on the street so next sunday ill try launching at higher rpms at the track and see what happens
#101
u can still launch high on the track and spin the wheels but if your track is good, you will only spin for a second max and then grip and roar like mad. good luck with that your times are impressive

Rep Power: 227 ok well this was at lacr and my cars totally stock with maybe the benefit of some pretty decent tires. *ziex 502 205/50/15*
rt - .163
60' - 2.577
330 - 7.262
1/8 - 11.168
1000 - 14.464
1/4 - 17.419
MPH - 78.937
that was my 2nd run...i only ran twice cuz i got there late and there was a **** load of cars amazingly on a wed. the first timeslip i lost but i ran a crappy 17.6
im pretty sure if i made some adjustments with my launch id get lower times...plus i forgot i had my friend in my car plus a good 50 pounds of worthless stuff..*got lazy and was last minute going to the track*

Rep Power: 299 all things considered (wieght stock and elevation at lacr) thats about right. but you could probably knock close to .5 seconds off your time if you kick your friend out of the car, show up with less than 1/4 tank of gas and practiced your launch. You just have to find the right combination of launch technique, rpm, and tire pressure that works best for your car.

Rep Power: 0 I cut a 2.3 and change on my car with Toyo TPT's 185/65/15 aired down to like 20. Track grabbed good that day, I could have launched at a higher rpm, I was going at like 4500
If he cut a 1.7 you'd think his timeslip would be better that 16.5 and 81.
