Slowest of the Slow \m/ autos

whatsup guys?
I was wondering what some of you auto EM2 with basic I/H/E setup where running in your 1/4 times...

last night at Midnight Madness @ San Antonio Raceway I ran a 18.2328 @75.99mph, and a 17.8392 @77.68mph

personally I was somewhat surprised/happy to break into the 17 second range with my second run, but was still curious to see what others with an auto EM2 where running @

I'm thinking next time I'll try some weight reduction, and try to better my reaction times...(I was running on a full tank, and I could prolly afford to lose the passnger seat maybe? also want to get my reaction times under 1 second...average reaction time last night was 1.56695

I think I did ok for my first time at the track

haha uhhh, well my first thing was remove the 52 pounds of tools from my trunk, second,......foot to the floor and not let off the gas till after Ive passed the end?

I'd guess removing the passenger seat, running on 1/2 - 3/4 of a tank instead of a full tank *like i was doing*, aaaand taking out the spare tire crap would reduce your weight enough to maybe allow you to hit 17's?

cant say it would work for sure, however, it cant hurt right?

Im guessing if I did ALL that, I might just be able to hit the high 16's low 17's...JUST a guess however

running a high 16 in a A/T with basic I/H/E setup is pretty much impossible. M/T's with I/H/E's are barely hitting the 16s

Stock Ex's have been able to do 15.7-15.9's stock in the past, but with a VP best ive seen stock is mid to high 16's with a M/T.

first of all, i am pretty sure it is impossible for a stock civic to run in the 15s, auto or manual. like stated above.

but a m/t with I/H/E can for sure hit the 16s. i did 17.1 with my stock civic at 3300 ft elevation. which is already in the 16s

No, I have a video of a stock civic doing a 15.8. My civic ran a 15.9 with a 2.4 60 foot with a muffler so it is very possible if you have a M/T. if you have an auto, you'll have to settle for high 16's.

Show me the video of the stock running a 15.8
Last drags here on maui we had 3-04 civics running all of them standard and all I/H/E with different varieties of electrical mods (ebay ground system) and v-tec controllers (some) and the fastest out of them all was 16.7 and trust me that was a good run with a near perfect launch.

If your telling me that a stock EX can run a 15.8
and a EX with professional tuned V-tec Controller, I/H/E, and good driving cant even hit low 16's, whats wrong? I think there is a flaw in your information, if there are ex's out there that are in the 15 second range, then i sure underestimated the D17

I will attempt to find it..
You have not been around long enough, so you wouldn't have seen the video or thread. There was a guy who DID run a 15.8 in a bone stock civic.. he took video from his computer screen walked out to his car and did a walk around the car, into the engine bay. Many of the "old-schoolers" will tell you this is true. It's not a rumor, it's a fact. Sure a majority of m/t civics run 16s but there are gifted people that are capable of breaking 15s.

Perhaps they can't drive... I dunno. I ran a 15.97 with an intake and muffler last summer with launches that were ok. I'll also attempt to find the video.

Did you read that thread ^^^^. The video link is dead on we-did-todd racing but you can obviously read from the other peoples post that saw it that it was real. I will continue to look for the video so that it works.
