a lil encounter

I was on my way home from the gym with my girl, and i del sol pulled up next to me...i smiled and my girl said do you have to race...i said no...there was no one in front of us for a good mile or 2, but we didnt do anything....we caught a light and as soon as it turned green we went at it til about 60mph...i pulled on him at first, and 2nd, 3rd he started to catch up to the door of my car...then we let off..

from the way it sounded he had a b16 in there...was the first b16 ive been..idk thought id share..sorry i suck at typing storys.

well i never race with her either when she is in the car...but this was the second time and she told be both times...the first time i raced a vr6 new golf with some mods when i was turbod, form a stop..he was reving so she told me to go for it, and i beat time..she got all happy and whatnot cause i beat him...then i raced that sol...she said go for it again so i did...what the hell...she is good luck...but i liked it better when i was turbod...my car was more fun to mess with.nows its too slow.

I'm just curious...what was the final nail in the coffin for you? what made you finally take the turbo kit out? I was close to being done with my kit and after spending a lot of cash on turbo parts, upgrading HG , clutch , and then my tranny broke and couldnt afford to swap it at the time so I gave up and sold it all.

what did it..lol...well i got the kit installed.tsi kit worked awsome..couldnt complain..but i wanted to run more boost and be able to tune my car to get the most out of it so i bought e-manage...got everything for it, got it installed, they tuned my car at 109hp. at 5psi..i was burning a full tank of gas going 170 miles on it..so i took my car somewhere else the place that did the install of the e-emanage could fix it..next place just ****ed **** up..blowing fuses...couldnt get the management to hold it settings...by this time i was at a total of a lil over 2k. they had my car for a month and got no where so i said **** this crap..and had them take it off...wasnt worth my money...

i had the tsi kit.T28bb turbo, rsx-s injectors, e-manage, all harnesses, 3 puck clutch, new HG, arp headstuds.

Dang man, sounds like you just couldnt find the right people to tune it right. You needed someone who knew what they were doing...I wouldve just tried to find someone else more knowledgable and you might have been just fine and you could still be boosting till this day.

You're right...as everyone here already knows, the best bang for your dollar (dollar vs. potential) is going to be an SRT4...I hear their problematic but def a very fast car for the price....that may be something you wanna consider if you can get past the SRT4's awesomely ugly appearance....I couldnt though thats why I settled for something more classy and I dont like AWD so...

I wish they still made turbo eclipses with the 4G63's...I wouldve bought one of those! My fav was the 2nd gen eclipses.

yeah they are nice..my friend had one when we all first started driving..did work to it then sold it...but im a fan of the 1st gens...they are so plain and kick ***. i like plain and simple cars..i know 4 poeple with 1st gens and they are sick, got a friend whos got a sick EVO...


I like cars id be interested in would be.....rsx-s,vr6,1.8t,r32,evo.

I dunno about the evos too much but I know you can make up to and over 400whp with a 1.8T without touching internals for less than what people spend trying to boost these 7th gens.

Yeah the VRT's are pretty sick but even those require you to be conservative and careful with the boost until you upgrade the internals. The 1.8T's are more popular in the vdubb scene because they're easier to make a lot of power with though. I drive an 05 GTI 1.8T 5spd myself. I always like the vdubbs but could never make the move to buy one and when I finally did I was kicking myself in the rear for not buying one a long time ago. VW's are far different from civics to say the least. I've had two civics over an 8 year period and I've been around many hondas and acuras over the years....non of them compare...

yeah cool....are you making anymore HP with the mods you have? this is my second honda but it got old fast...idk...sucks, you cant make it have alot of power unless you spend a crap load of money...well atleast the d-series...b-k are different...but i dont drive one with a swap...

If I were you I would start looking now....you might be able to find some good deals on 05 models still. For right now I'm still mostly stock. I put a K&N filter in and I upgrade the diverter valve which is basically a BOV for VW's the difference is a Diverter vents the boost pressure back through the intake to help keep the turbo spooled between shifts. The upgrade is much better over stock though since the stock one sucks they say and it tends to leak. My next step is a boost gauge and a chip. The chip makes a big difference and is one of the first mods that people with a vw's get. Its around $500

yeah ive been looking for a few..mostly rsx-s's....im going to start checking out the vdubbs...doesnt the chip add like 25 hp??not sure thou just taking a guess...i know a kid who has a 1.8t and we got a chip and it was a lil faster...we raced when i was turbod and we were neck and neck..idk if his chip was $500 thou.

depending on which chip you get...they can add 35-45 hp and 75 to 95 lbs of torque....if you get just the chip with cai and turbo back exhaust they can easily hit low 14's and if not high 13's with drag radials.
