1/19 n2o track times (update with vid!!)
ok this was my first time out to the track with n2o. I was running a 75shot, I believe there is alot of room for improvement though.
1st. 14.4@101 w/ 2.5 60ft
2nd. 14.5@100 w/ 2.5 60ft
3rd. 14.3@99 w/2.4 60ft
I know I can do better if I get my 60ft down, but im still figure things out.
Edit: Hey guys I found out a local friend had taped my 14.3 run. so here it is.
I watched this vid over and over and my jaw drops everytime I bog lol.

Well... you have 2 things to consider for when to spray.
1. if you spray in low gears you are putting far more power down to the tires than normally and you will break something quickly, probably axels or something like that. then you upgrade the axels and the tranny goes. Remember you are multipling the torque created by the engine through the tranny, which will put quite a bit of stress on it.
2. If you can keep traction while spraying in low gears, why not? lol I mean axels aren't that much, and junk yard trannies can be had for just a few hundred (assuming you are using a manual). The question is do you have the funds and can you afford the down time if something does break?

those are good traps. with a lower 60 ft time you should be at 14.0-14.1 your trap will go down as you get better 60 ft times but your times will improve keep practicing your times will always get better.

I sprayed for a while with a 75 shot myself and used drag radials too and never broke any axels nor have I ever heard of any member on this site breaking any of their axels due to using nitrous. Not saying it couldnt happen but I think its very unlikely unless they're making a lot more whp/wtrq than the average 7th gen nitrous member.

oh yea, horrible launch. Also looked like you short shifted 1st. Even though the tires are breaking loose, dont shift right away. Try doing the same thing you did there with drag radials, but launch at a higher RPM. If you still lose traction badly in 1st, dont use the nitrous til 2nd.
If you could pull a 2.2 or better 60/ft, you would definately be in the 13's.
I have faith in you! When i first started running my civic at the track, i was getting 2.7, 2.5, etc 60/ft.
Now i can pull 2.1 and 2.0 consistently. After you rack up a few hundred slips, you will have it down no problem.

^^ yea i short shifted 1st cause i've heard that you dont want to hit rev limiter on n2o, unless this is a myth then ill ride it out next time.
thanks turboengnr, maybe i can be the first into 13's with n2o

you are correct. n2o + rev limiter can cause problems.
I keep forgetting that. Im a turbo guy, so rev-limiters dont bug me.
Im not blaming you for short shifting anymore. lol.

hey azn, do you have a window switch installed?
If not, get one and put in a 6500 RPM pill. Then you wont have to worry about the rev-limiter + nitrous
i know, im really lagging on my answers. But give me a break! Im medicated!
