Ok, tonight on the way home from work I'm cruising down I-4 in Orlando at about 70. I drive consistently at one speed for the most part. Where it is 65 I usually do 80 but when I get to the 55 and 50 zones I do 70 or sometimes 65.

So I'm going 70 in the middle lane and some ricer Mitsubishi Galant with saw blade or chinese star graphics on his car is off to my right. Some slow *** was in front of him, so when I went by he got behind me and sped up right onto my bumper then backed off. He got in the right lane, sped up next to me, then slowed down again. I stayed at exactly 70 the whole time.

So he's in the right lane still and there are more slow cars, so he gets behind me once again. Now I am going to slow (at 70 still) for him so he gets in the left lane and passes me. Now we come up to a fairly sharp turn on the highway that loads of idiots wreck on. I always take it 70+ though. But the ricer slowed down in the fast lane to 55 to take it. So did the car in front of me and the car in the right lane. So we got a blockade going here. I'm still in the middle lane with nowhere to go and suddenly some dude in an audi comes up in the left lane and is stuck behind the ricer. Audi is next to me and suddenly puts on his right blinker and tries to change lanes right INTO ME. I took my foot off the gas and laid on the horn and got out of the way just in time. Then the audi gets by everyone and is gone... the ricer then tries to catch up. I can't see either one of them anymore and I'm doing 70 again. When what happens after a couple minutes? I catch up to and pass the ricer again. And then he speeds up and passes me again and then I pass him again.

WTF

Later I am getting on the turnpike from the expressway and some idiot in an old Monte carlo decides to change lanes while I am next to him and we're going around a ramp onto the turnpike. I floored it and got out of the way, luckily I was in 4th gear... then I punched it up to 80 like I usually do there and I left that guy in the distance. 7 miles later I see headlights coming up on me. I slow down a tiny bit thinking it could be a cop. I'm going maybe 77 or so and I notice the lights are too blocky. It's the damn monte carlo. He must've been pushing 90-100 to catch up to me like that. I'm in the left lane he is in the right. He gets his front end up to my door (I am of course going exactly 80 this whole time once I realised he wasn't a cop) and just as soon as I think he's going to pass me he must've slowed down to 50-60 because he disappeared behind me.

Why do people drive like this? Seriously, WTF.

wow, when i went to florida, everyone went below the speed limit. i was all "wtf"
but anyway, it happens all the time. you can either be aggressive about it or passive. i pick and choose with each different time. but usually if i get boxed in like you describe i turn aggressive cause thats how accidents happen, you can't go anywhere cause you have no options. feel better.

I've driven in New York and Boston. It sucks there too. But here, it's like a different kind of sucky driving. We got old people, tourists, ricer fools, soccer moms in suvs in the fast lane, trailer trucks that think they are sports cars...

This whole week has been bad. I have had so many close calls. The thing is I usually do drive pretty aggressively anyway since I'm originally from the Boston area and that's how you gotta drive there. But since I got pulled over for going 35 over the limit a couple months back and since I don't want to mess up my nice car, I've been trying to be better. If someone tries to pass me I don't feel a competition anymore.

But it really sucks when you're late to work because some *** in an suv is going 20 in a 45 zone and you're stuck behind them for 8 miles. Either that or I get stuck behind the suv guy that wishes he had a sports car. Drives fast on the straights and slows down to half the limit for every damn turn.

Sometimes I wish my car could support a 50 cal or a grenade launcher on it.

you should try driving in cali. i live next to leisure world. its an old folks community. then you get the ricers thn you get the dumb teenagers and then you get the spacey suv moms that driv vehicles that they can barely see over the steering wheel and cant control them or park them for the life of them. then we have all the wealthy ********* that drive the expensive cars that think they own the road and can cut you off with out signaling. it gets really hectic here. or better yet being caught in traffic for hours on end trying to battle just to get to your destination. i could bitch all day long but instead i just take a depp breath and try not to rage on people

before i started driving i was always calm and i was never annoyed by anything, now i think i need anger management cause it pisses me off so much how people dont know how to drive or they act like a$$holes and drive slow in the left lane on the expressway, i never let anyone ahead of me and when i know someone is i step on the gas so they cant, ahhhh im getting pissed just writing this

know what gets me the most? when you get some idiot not paying attention and either cuts you off or just floats lanes cutting you off so you give a little toot from the horn and you end up getting the finger because you let them know that they were all over the road

While I was driving this morning a old bronco lookings thing opened full throttle right next to me... I do not know why but they just did. Alot of cars do weird stuff around me.

Hasn't happened as much with my new civic, but with my old one i swore it was invisible too! If I was going down the highway and there is no one behind me for a mile people would still cross the highway in front of me. If they waited 10 whole seconds they could go after me.

Its the people driving super slow that cause the accidents because others that are driving moderatly fast to medium have to take evasive action to avoid being stuck behind some idiot going 50 on the freeway.



San Diego isn't too bad except when you get the people from Sonora Mexico going super super slow.

I just watched a 12 car pile because some idiot was going 35 in a 55 here in Ohio. I've been to Boston, that place sucks, but here in Ohio, we have our own version of stupid people. They seem to be more willing to tail gate you then go into the lane next to me and just pass me.

I know what you mean by the civic being invisible, and the sad truth is to most people they are. My fiancee has an '06 civic I drive all the time and I've had 4 of them, and if you have a dark, it just seems people don't even knwo you are there. They cut you off, pull out infront of you do all kinds of stupid stuff. The I would get pissed off and drive more aggressive, which is bad for me, because I end up cleaning the my passengers sioled seat.

Anyway, I now dirve a big F150 everyday, and it's totally different, when I go to an intersection, every body waits for me to go, no body cuts off (or rather it is less frequently) and people are just all around more curtius. It's sad you have to drive a gas guzzling, $36,000 6,000 lb piece of metal to get anyones attention any more.

I remember a few years ago after I got in a crash with my Lumina and I was carless I borrowed my sisters 1977 Chrysler New Yorker. That think was like a battleship. NO ONE pulled in front of me.

I am sick of people driving half the speed limit... seriously my whole way to work today was either half the limit or 20 below for no reason. Usually when I finally got by the idiots, they were casually chitchatting away on a cell phone.
