S2000 vs SRT4

I am proudly posting the first kills that my fiancee actually got while driving my S2000. I wasn't there, but am merely repeating the story she told me.

//side note: we have switched cars for driving to/from work since I work much further from home and her car (an 05 corolla) gets much better gas mileage.//

While at a gas station the other day on the way home, my fiancee said she had 2 guys in a neon SRT4 checking her out in the gas station. They then, of course were checking out the S2000 as she was getting in. She left the gas station and they ended up pulling out behind her.

She got stopped at the light before the freeway, and the guys in the SRT4 pulled up next to her and started revving. She looked over and the one guy was giving her this smile and acting all "pimp-wannabe" according to her. lol.

She waited for the light, and then they took off on green. She put a few cars on him and then moved over to make her freeway onramp.

hehe, nothin sexier than a hot chick racing in a nice car.

if your E36 is stock, you raced a poor driver. none the less, sounds like he was a cool guy. good kill.

I ran a black E36 M on the freeway once. Put a few car lengths on him till we shut down at around 130mph. Driver's race.

No offense, but I highly doubt your comment.

Either way, streets races are always very subjective. Anything can happen I suppose.

Every other time I've heard or seen a competition of E36 M vs. S2Kizzle, the M always comes out on top. Certainly not by a long shot or anything in that regard, but it does none the less.

I was at a near by track (not drag stip) a couple of years ago doing some easy runs in a Porsche 944 my dad used to have and there were 4 S2000 and 2 E36 M3's. According to the track supervisor, Both E36 M3's, one modded and one stock, were pulling in faster lap times than all 4 S2k's.

Obviously our 944 was no match for either of them But, it was fun running around the course with all of those cars.

the E36 is capable of high 13's stock. (13.7-13.9) So is the S2000. in other words, you might be a very good driver, and you raced against an average driver. that doesn't mean your win counts any less. just the way you said it made it sound like you thought the S2000 is slower than it really is. I never had a problem with E36's when I was stock, but I also could run consistent 13's stock. However, I knew the potential of the E36 was there, so I know the difference was the driver.

long story short, it's a driver's race between the two in a straight line.

I was at a near by track (not drag stip) a couple of years ago doing some easy runs in a Porsche 944 my dad used to have and there were 4 S2000 and 2 E36 M3's. According to the track supervisor, Both E36 M3's, one modded and one stock, were pulling in faster lap times than all 4 S2k's.
you at a track and seeing what only 6 drivers out of the entire racing community do in the E36 and S2000 doesn't define the car's capabilites as a whole. the S2000 can actually drive circles around the E36 in terms of handling. heck, in auto-x, the S2000 is in a higher class than the E36.

Obviously our 944 was no match for either of them But, it was fun running around the course with all of those cars.
did you get to drive on the track yourself? tracks are fun as hell.

You're right. I never meant to make the S2kizzle sound slower than it is. I'm going to say that E36 M3, S2Kizzle, and 350Z (blah) are all on par with eachother.

I like the first two very much.

*Edit*

Both me and my father were taking turns running through the track in our Porsche. It was fun. When we had it, we took it to a couple of auto-x's aswell.

Let's get the facts straight here...

He had a K24 block with a K20A2 head. I believe he had ITR cams and manifold. He made 230hp on a dynapack, which would translate into around 207whp on a dynojet. Irregardless he has a lightweight Civic with good power and would match up well against SRT-4s.

With that kind of a modded Civic, there's no doubt in my mind that he would be pulling Neon SRT-4's.

no no it's ok. we can rag on the 350Z's all we want. (until the 350Z owners show up. a few lurk on the site) jk.

and track is so much fun. i got to run a very small go-kart elevation changing track last year, and it was a blast in the S2000. such a tight track, you never get over 80.

That's exactly how the track is that I ran on. It's primarily for go-karts and motorcycles, but it's loads of fun in a coupe or roadster. I'd be suprised if anyone in a road car got above 65mph on that course other than the strait away. People usually reach about 110 right there depending on the car. Our Porsche would just peak over 90 at that point. Fun track. I'll be going again in the summer.
