1st time at the track
1st time at the track
I drive a stock 05` civic ex 5speed..
Well I ranned my car for the first time ever at a 1/4 track and I was wondering if this is normal time for a stock ex.. It was a free run so i decided why not
Reaction - .2565
60 ft - 2.5103
330 ft - 7.1442
1/8 et - 10.9309
1/8 mph - 64.90
1000 et - 14.1799
1000 mph - 74.61
1/4 et - 16.8999
1/4 mph - 83.41
I ususally launch my car around 3.5k rpms and just dump the clutch, i heard that if you ease off it, it reduces tire spin so im thinking of trying that out next time i go.

Your R/T isn't too too bad for a beginer but your 60ft sucks REAL bad! Practice launcging it better. Like messing with the tire pressure in your front tires. Put max psi in the rear to help rolling resistance and maybe start with like 27psi in the front and go down 1 psi every run till you get a 60ft your happy with. Don't go too low though! I wouldn't go any lower than like 16psi! You have a 2.5 60ft now so if you could get it down to like a 2.1 you could have some mid to low 16's under your belt!
I know i don't have a Honda but trust me its hard launching something fwd with about 400ft lbs of torque so i know a little about launching fwd's
Practice makes perfect!

Practice makes perfect! Can I/H/E make it run a 15? Reason why I'm asking is I'm not gonna do any F/I or swaps or nitrous to it for awhile, because I recently just bought the car and the D17A2 is still pretty new with only 5k miles. Thinking of just putting on basic boltons on it and leave it as that for the D17.
with only boltons,it would be pretty hard to cut off .9 sec off you time. but if it was your first time, you should already improve you time of .1, .2 your 2nd time. try putting lower tire pressure in the in the front. it would be a pretty close call with I/H/E. should also take out the spare tire and go with 1/4 tank, to put all the chances on your side.
a 50 shot of nitrous would make you 1/4 mile time about .6 sec faster.

My best stock trim is in my sig. I would get that 60 ft to a 2.3 wich is good for a stock civic and it should run about a low 16 somwhere. I/H/E should get you somwhere in the high 15s driving it right. Some guy on here runs 15.2 with only a few bolt ons and drag radials. I will try to find his name so you can check out his mods.

most people when they go to the track and run come back sayin i need boltons, nitrous etc..... the 60 ft is hella important and if u can get that down then ur times will be much better then someone with just bolt ons. Just get good suspension and maybe some slicks or dr's and practice launching. Preloading, dumpin the clutch everyone can say which is better etc but just practice and see
If you're not planning on doing nitrous, swap or turbo any time soon then I would just wait before you decide to go out and spend a bunch of money on i/h/e because you're only going to see minimal gains anyway that will be barely noticable while driving. Wait be cause by the time you do get around to deciding if you wanna go swap, nitrous, or turbo you may not even want the civic anymore and you may want something else and in that case all that money you spent on bolt-ons will be a complete waste.
