Rep Power: 228 I Got To Drive A Gto Today!
so, i have this 77 year old family friend who just purchased a brand new Pontiac GTO. The car has only 330 miles on it, and the stock exhaust just purrs like a ready-to-pounce tiger. To my surprise, my friend, Ted, says yea peter go ahead and take it for a spin, after all you did inspire me to get this car, (i have a 2001 ssm em2). He just happened to retire at age 39 since he played the stock market, and he payed for this $38,000 dollar car WITH A CHECK!!! Gosh it must be nice to be rich.. sighhh anyway--
so i started off in the hoods, just roaming around, getting a feel for it and wow.. that car is unusually smooth, i have a 1.5 inch drop with Tein Coilovers and that GTO is like a BMW compared to Bicycle without any shocks.
So about 3 minutes later, (lol) i decided to take it on the local expressway where the speed limit is 50 mph. On the way, i had a tendency to notice all the fast cars on the road, whereas in my civic, i inadvertently took note of other rice rockets.
So, to the race - I pulled up to this turbo'd, riced out MR2. I look around to see if there are cops, and i check out the dude in the MR2. He has no idea i am next to him, so i rev. He looks over, i smile, then i look to the right, and a middle-aged white man is lookin at me nodding his head in approval of the car.
The light turns green and i slowly roll out, then push harder on the pedal, to avoid burning up the GTO's tires. Well i EASILY pull ahead of him to about 70 mph... I slow back down to about 60 and it takes a couple more more seconds to catch up to me. We when both go at it and i was at 115 faster than my mind cared to take note of... All i know is that that MR2 was toast, and i had the biggest fattest smile on my face.
I am proud to be a civic owner but hot damn, American Cars sound beautiful, feel beautiful, and look the shmit...
anyway i got a couple videos of me just drivin around and here's one i got of me going from 0-70 mph, i let off the pedal around 60 but still, it's fast...

gah sorry about that, seems like the video host has cut off part of the left side of the screen, hopefully you guys can still get an idea of how brutally fast this car is.

Rep Power: 0 but actually it is american muscle. First GM owns Holden and second the GTO has either the LS1 or LS2 in it(depending on year), which is very much american!

Rep Power: 0 GM is horrid???? ok i want you to go look at all the reviews of the new Z06 and then tell me that they are horrid. The new Z06 is lighter then the Carrera GT!!! Oh and btw the new Z06 is about $65,000 and the Carrera GT is $450,000, so that is a big deal! Also the new GTO is kinda a let down, its nowhere near the old Goats!

Rep Power: 0 The new GTO is alright but the whole Pontiac family looks alike. I saw an 40 GTO sitting next to an 04 GP and could barely tell them apart. Oh, and it's a GM product, lol.

Rep Power: 0 I got RAPED by a GTO the other day...I had 2 other people in the car with me. I had my 18's on and I was running like 6.5-7psi....well it was probably like 2.5-3 cars then I let off. It sounded VICIOUS!! It was a beast. I knew I would lose. I was just f'ing around.
