01 EX vs 02 Lancer (dyno graph added, no bs)
01 EX vs 02 Lancer (dyno graph added, no bs)
My club held a lapping day at Shannonville MSP, and cruised down with a bunch of cars, an 02 Lancer (base model), I/E, Chipped and My 01 Civic just Intake
Couple laps around the track I saw him right up my ***, so i held him there until the straight, where I walked him like a dog about 2-3 cars and still pulling until about 140 km/h.
He was quite suprised, especially after getting the Mitsu Performance chip installed. Kind of reinforces my dyno @ 124 whp

sorry, 123 whp...correction rate recalibrated 3 times on two seperate occasions. all other cars before and after me were putting down appropriate power

you have a VERY rare case. I can't explain other than some kind of design flaw or something different. Most people who have that much hp have IHE and more.

the dyno means nothing. you have no baseline, so we have no way of determining whether or not your car would have dyno'ed on this dyno at 105whp stock, and the intake gave you the 20whp or not.
i'm willing to bet, if you use the exact same correction factors, and do a run at 123whp, and then take off the intake, this dyno will have you run at least 120whp.
you didn't gain 20whp from an intake on a D17. the laws of physics dictates so. without a baseline, this dyno is useless.

hey,
thats what the shop owner was explaining to me, is that every motor varies a little bit, but there are "freak motors" that far exceed the manufactures specs, for instance he will know what itr (b18c5) motor has the c5 head or the manually ported b16a head because of the varience in consistency.
also the intake is garbage, some ebay brand 35 dollar special. it will do until the end of the month.
the pull was 4th gear (i have the video kicking here somewhere)
i am going back to the shop soon to find out the question of the correction factor
also, s2kman: it was never my claim that my intake gave me that much power, i simply was astonished that i had such a strong stock motor.

ya we're not saying its the intake, just something crazy with the car. wow and in 4th gear. I had mine dynoed in 2nd gear with IHE and pnp and it barely makes 100.
My guess that ur original number is multiplied by the correction factor since 1.022 is the 4th gear's ratio. But to my knowledge, that is what your supposed to do. Im astonished at those numbers.
its not surprising to me that he beat the lancer. i have a 01s10 that makes less than 100whp stock and runs 18's stock. with intake exhaust and pullies i ran side by side with a lancer auto. i even pulled on it slightly twards then end of our run. my best time in that truck was a 17.3 so that tells you something. my friends was driving the lancer
I freaked when I originally read the first thread. No Way he made that much power I'm close but not that close. I have i/h/e and VFAC II and I'm barely at 114hp and 108 tq. Not even a freak can do that. Dont mean to steal ur thunder but just didnt know where those numbers came until ur last post. wheeeeeew.

^ oh man, dont even worry. you should have seen me freak on the owner of the shop because there was no way i believed the dyno.
he had me come back and dyno again on the house, and still sitting at about a 1-2 hp varience. here are a couple other cars from my club that we dyno'd that day..enjoy

this didn't happen to be on a dynapack dyno, was it?
^ no it wasnt a dynopack, its a waterbreak dyno running the software it says on the slip
anyway, im going to be taking it to another dyno, this one being a dyno jet
my buddy with the first dyno in the above post just had his car dyno'd on the dyno jet after being run on the dyno i was on, and he ran within +/- 4 whp, so i know that its not an inaccuracute dyno
i'll post up my second sheet as soon as i go down
