Raced a Nasty S2k, Still owned it though
I don’t post kills very often but I figured I would post this... Considering it was a modified s2k.
While driving down Del Soto I come to a red light "the one before Kaiser for those that know the area" this white S2k with a carbon fiber hood and aftermarket exhaust pulls up next to me. The driver was an Asian wearing sun glasses, not like that matters. He looks at my car than and than at me. I’m of course admiring his Racing Hart 17 inch rims. The Car appeared to be a 04.. It was of newer body style "love the new bumpers". So he had 2.2 liter engine, don’t kill me if I’m wrong about that.
I roll down the window and tell him he has a nice ride.. He says thanks and asks me what color the corvette is. " I tell him its sunset metallic orange" He’s like ya its cool it sort of like a rust color and gave me a thumbs up. The light turns green we both take off just normal.. So now we are stuck at the light leading onto the Del Soto onramp going northbound. I was forced to move behind him by this time, only one lane turns onto the onramp. As I sit I hear him start revving his engine-it did have a little whistling noise to it, most likely my imagination-, The driver of the s2k looks at me through the rear view mirror and I’m like alright lets see... "I switch mode to competition driving with driver aids" had to add that because I’m posting this on another forum lol,. Soon as the light turns green he takes off, it wasn’t much of a launch since it went into a turn. However, soon as he got around the turn at about a 5mph roll on the onramp he goes full throttle. Like to note this thing sounded very loud and mean. At this time I gun it as well swinging into the carpool lane entrance. I quickly swing along side him and pull a nose length ahead of him, barely.. We are still battling it all way to the end, he wouldn’t let up. His front bumper ends up at my door as I have to swing over the double line in an effort to avoid forcing this guy off the road because the lanes merged. With a clear road ahead I put about three car lengths on him until he fell behind.. I hit about 86 mph on what appeared to be a little less than a 1/8 stretch. On the free way I went to 127mph before I lost him. It comes pretty quick; it wasn’t a prolonged race if you know what I mean.
It was a pretty impressive s2k..
that’s the hp and 1/8 time at Race legal in San Diego of the c6
Yes street versus track is a lot different

that is a fast **** car. a friend of mine had a blown c5. that thing was insane . it was laying about 500whp min with full headers exhaust blower @6psi with after cooler some head work and a t/b with some minor tuning. he was about 55yrs old though and he didnt want to kill himself. so he just traded it for a 05 lotus elise. still a fun fast car but nothing like a blown c5. i am in love with the new body style though and the use of the ls2. what a motor!!!!
A liitle info here please whitecastle. Okay for the last generation corvette, the suped up model was the zo6. Is your corvette the suped up model for the newest generation or the base model. Thanks for the info. and good kill

To answer the other question, unlike the c5's the c6's have a driving mode that well let you spin the tires a little more and push the car a little more before the driver aids come on. This allows me to get faster times with traction control on than with it off on my shinnies.. If the pavement is slightly uneven I will just light the tires up and not go anywhere with traction control off.

Dude, I know exactly who your talking about!
That guy is always on Ventura Blvd. I saw him once on Topanga Canyon by Valley Park Ford. He drives like the biggest a$$ ever. Cutting people off. Trying to race anything and everybody. Im just glad there was someone that was able to hand his a$$ to him.

it sounded like the S2k had an SC, but that's still only gonna put it to maybe a 13.1 on stock boost. it still has no chance against a 12 second vette. (unless of course whitecastle drives like a tool! lol)
