300ZX vs. 01 HX 5 speed
So i pull up to a light on the highway when a pearl colored 300zx pulls up beside me and says you ready to eat some pearl ****. First off, what a comment second, he nuetral drops it...hahaha. I dont race him and say man that things fast you wanna run them at the prkwy. He said for 20 bucks he'd do it. We make our way to an industrial park here in town when we line up he says he'll do 3 honks and we go, We go on the third honk, he nutral drops this poor 300 around 5 grand, spins like all hell and i'm already 2 cars on him, if any of you know about the hx the gears are really looooong. At the top of 2nd he is on me bad actualy about a fender ahead. then his auto trans hits 3rd......it was over after that i was outfront to 100 where i slowed.
Sorry this post is so long, but this is my first post in the street encounters area.

Well to begin with the 18's increase his rotational weight and if he spun the tires on an auto 300ZX I could believe it. My friend just got rid of his Z before getting stationed in Japan so I know how they drive. If he lost grip for a second or two you would have a HUGE advantage.
alright guys this is no bs the car was honestly fast but the kid had no control and i know that this car should have smoked me, on the other hand it didnt and i took the win and the money. Dont be haten haha

Yeah and the Z has almost a 1000 lbs more and if the Z spun the tires, he has horrible traction. It sounds exactly what I would expect for a young person that doesn't know how to luanch a RWD car. Basically, luanching owned him.
yes, the launch owned him, i was around 4 grand in 1st before he caught traction at all, he said he spun really bad then it just bogged when it caught, so what can i say my little honda owned the n/a 3.0

About 20 miles south of Cleveland, in the northeast corner of Ohio. By Akron if you know where that is.
There are quite few members here from Indiana, you'll find they're really helpful too.

No points, you can post in the members ride area. If you look toward to top of the sceen, you'll see a link that says members ride, click that and then there is a link to "upload your photo" It will link it to your name and everything. Enjoy!
Yeah, you'll find there are some dies hard junkies on here. I just happen to have a realy slow morning at work. And you posted in one of my forums, so that helped.

Yeah, I don't mind my work, if I hated it I better not be doing it, because it what I do for the rest of life (I work in R&D).

Yeah, I have almost the same truck for hualling the trailer around (I have horses) excpet mine is a little older. Gets 8MPG, can't afford to drive anymore, so I'm attempting to down grade my rig to something a little smaller. well, I'm off to lunch, talk to ya later

hey, good kill, and welcome to the site. i believe it. if he actually paid you afterwards, i believe it. folks have to remember after a certain point of power, traction sucks ***. so anyway, good 4 you.
The only way that would even be slightly possible is if it was a NA 300zx. If it was boosted, even if it was auto and driven by my 8 year old sister it would have destroyed your car.
Worst driven auto boosted 300zx vs best driven hx civic= 15sec < mid 16sec
Worst driven auto NA 300zx vs best driven hx civic= low 16sec < mid 16sec may be close
and this is assuming that the z was ragged to hell (sounds like it was)

At this point I am calling BS, because at this point NO MATTER WHAT TYPE OF Z it was it would have kept right on pulling. And you can't say it was driver becuase once you get an auto going there is not much else left to do. You expect me to belive that you got this boost of power or he just lost power after this point?? two cars at WOT one starts latter, but is gaining fast the one that is gaining WILL pass the one at the same rate that it is gaining, not catch up and then mysteriously slow down like in FF.
