porsche pwned me
what porsche has the carrera body (996) with a "Turbo S" badge on the back instead of carrera? because that's the porsche that beat the living **** out of my miata. and it was a woman driving it, too! i would say early 30s maybe late 20s. she had a rock on her ring finger the size of a quarter
jesus. that made my day.
so here's what happened lol. i got to a stop light in the middle lane of a 3 lane highway. there's a truck sitting to the right of me and then a convertible porsche turbo s pulls up to the left. i look and it's a hot woman
so the truck driver asks if we like having our tops down. if it's enjoyable. i say "yeah man it's great" and the lady says "it feels like love!"
then the truck driver says "want to race?" out of the blue! ahhaha i'm sitting there going
cause why would i race a truck?
lady says "sure! why not"
light turns green RIGHT AFTER SHE SAYS THAT and off she goes
i need all the
i can get to catch up to her at the next light where she crosses all the way to the right most lane, honks and waves at me, then takes a right turn onto a back road. damn her and her fast *** porsche. she probably had 8 car lengths on me within a 1/4 mile.

Interesting though how all those numbers seem to lose their weigh in the hands of the average driver on a regular non-straight track. Here's what I mean :
Ok for straight-line acceleration with TCS any boob can make a car go fast. Especially with a sequential transmission. But throw the same driver on a closed track for a few laps, then ask the same driver to drive the track in a significaltly cheaper (slower) car and it will all make sense : good driving can't just be bought. You might say that the more expensive (and powerful car) has all sorts of gadgetry to allow the driver to go faster. That simply won't happen because the driver is most definetly intimidated by the car or scared to crash it.
That lady probably won't do Monza in under five minutes in either her shiny porsche or your regular four door sedan. A good driver is by definition able to adapt to different conditions and thus will get great times with any car.
Then there's getting awed at an automatic turboed porsche owning a regular poor man's car which goes along the same lines as the above reasoning.
In resume, as an answer to the first post: You think?!?!?

If I can recall grade 3 math correctly, isn't "<" the less than symbol? So by saying 'miata is less than porsche x 1 million' isn't entirely inaccurate.
^ i dont get it? but if you weren't sure what the < sign meant then i don't need to keep adding on.
like hussle said. you cant compare a miata (~3k) to a 911 carrera (~50k). anyone would expect the carrera to win.
anyways, street racing is for losers.
