Rep Power: 0 Wow.... everyone is talking like the corvette is an unbeatable monster.... but..... ITS NOT.
How many of you have actually been to the track? C5 owners dont like to admit it, but when I am at the local track, mid 13s are actually pretty uncommon for the stock ones. I was down there awhile ago with about 5 lightly modified C5 vettes. It took them awhile to break into the 13s. The best anyone in the group ran was a 13.5.
Put the magazines down people. What happens at the track with everyday drivers is what matters.
WhiteCastle... you need to realize that your precious Corvette C5's and C6's can be beat... and it doesnt take much these days to do it.

Rep Power: 271 That driver just reminds me of today when I was at Jegs filling up my bottle and some goofball with a stock auto GTO pulls up as I'm putting my bottle back in revving up the engine. Gets out and I start talking to him about Nos. Hes telling me autos are faster than the manuals and he beats 350z's with 4 people in his car. Im like yeah thats cool cuz this guy sounds goofy and looks goofy. Asks me to race him and I say well im putting over 250 hp to the wheels with NOS and my car only weighs 2000 lbs so It woulnd't be worth my time to race him . I cant believe some of these people with nice fast cars. All you can do about them is laugh.

Rep Power: 0 Yea... you would have destroyed the GTO. Stock GTO's, especially the autos, are really quite disappointing. Torque management KILLS them. The 3800lb weight doesnt help either

Rep Power: 0 I sort of agree on BS. I also think the boosted rsx-s would have killed you terribly. My friend has a nice s2000, and he says he is constantly being beaten by other cars, and he said my boosted civic would more than likely have taken him easily. He is a very good driver as well. I think you think your car is the fastest on the road, but the fact is, no matter how good of a driver you think you are, its not reality that a corvette got smoked by you. I sure scared the hell out of some when peeling out in 3rd in my vic. haha. they stopped racing immediately.
I just dont think its happeneing, but good kill if so. This isnt to start a fight, just what I believe.
You ever race a legacy 2.5gt? Did you smoke it? lol

i didn't beat a corvette, i beat a poor driver in a corvette. you do realize there is LESS than half a second difference between what a C5 can run in the 1/4 mile vs what my car can run in the 1/4 mile right? one missed shift will cost you a good .4 seconds at least. oh wait, but that's right, in reality all C5's run 13.2 and never miss a shift or drive poorly.
I'm amazed how people want to sit here and continue to debate this by simply throwing a tantrum, crossing their arms, and shaking their head while saying "nu uh that can't happen".

the 10th guy is very close to the realm of my S2000. and if that's just the number 10 guy of the top 10, what about ALL THE OTHER RSX's who didn't even make that list. so hwo does that mean any boosted RSX would "kill me terribly"?

my car is nowhere near stock. i have intake, exhaust (which don't do much) and most importantly, 4.57 final drive gear with the comptech reinforced diff.
this is what i can do to a properly driven stock S2000

Rep Power: 375 same mods, had a 13.6 @ 103 so far. hot humid day, with temps in the 90's. only been to the track twice since i got the gears. i dont want to run in the hot *** weather we have had. but i'll get back there hopefully in october or so, now that i've had time to re-learn launching my car with the gears.
the gears are a life-altering mod for the S2000. completely changes the car.

first car, yellow one is a c6 modified not z06.
buddy the magazines show out of the box c6's and c5's no one keeps them stock. That video is reality... You will get your *** handed to you big time.
I’m still having the BS flag already stated my argument why.
Alright I will give him that he beat an evo which is a low low 13 second car.
He must have been driving really damn good that day. Hard to believe considering I’ve read a lot s2k forums and mods they have and everyone on s2k forums gets their asses beat by evo 8s. I actually read about a guy nighthawk1 on sk2forum, same mods as S2000man! He ran a 13.8 at the track. I even driven my friends s2k at the track, I got my *** handed to me by an evo 8 on the straight coming out turn around 45 mph
I am highly dought full of this.
Thats all i got to say....

o ya and temp out side, even the track can = a different time in many ways expesualy if one is keeped up and maintained well or if its not so stop trying to be all knowing its really anoying

No one keeps them stock? Are you retarded? I worked for a C5 Corvette shop for a year. I went to a few of the big, nationwide corvette shows. I saw A LOT of stock C5s (C6 was no where near to being released at the time). Have you EVER had your car at the strip? Any videos? Or are you keep going to post videos of other corvettes?
Magazines race stock vehicles in idea conditions with good drivers. A race on the street or at a poorly prepped track are not ideal conditions and who knows how the drivers are.
Just becuase a Corvette got beat by a "slower" car does not mean that it didnt happen. Take out your C6, race some stock 7th gens, and make yourself feel better.
Wow... just wow. The owners are the reason I have absolutely no desire to own a Corvette.
