real term for ricer.
ricer was developed because of the high rpms on import four cylinder engines. The unique sound the engines made , well sounded like a rice kettle.. So thats how the term rice rocket was developed. So the term actually developed out of japan.
Its like the word GAY
it somehow got turned around because the low lifes of society (in this case the car society) used it to explain their crappy cars. The term ricer now means your car is trash basically and you have no taste.
I dont need to explain what gay use to mean i hope

you can do a google image search for the word "ricer" and you will find your results of what to look for in a ricer vehicle. from what i know a "ricer" does not have to be a japanese car or even a 4cyl. there is many many threads on this site about these sort of people. the one that stands out the most for me is the cavalier that has five exhaust tips and vtec stickers all around. search for it. i think its called "so i had this guy try to race me today..."
here is what urbandictionary.com seems to think about the word "RICER"

anyway, just for kicks here are some pictures of cars that i found that i think fit this criteria.

Cars do not neccesarily need to be imports to be considered "rice"- ex. "Cobra" badging and/or body kit on a V6 Mustang.
I've seen myself the following examples:
"RalliArt" badging on a Honda
"Evolution" badging and bodykit attempt on 1989 Mirage
"Neuspeed" badging on 1997 Lumina
"Type-R" badge and 5" exhaust tip on 1980s Civic Wagovan
Double spoiler, 18" rims and Type-R badge on Geo Metro
Type-R badge on Ford Probe

everyone has there own definition of "rice".
i dont think theres an offical term that everyone could agree on. and plus, majority of the people who use it are kids. be an adult and just call it butt ugly lol

basically, people call rice on anything now adays....
if a car comes stock with clear tail lights, that seems to be fair game for "rice"......... but jttegx says, a lot of these "ricer" mods do spoil the look and functionality of the car.

In essience a "Ricer" is someone who talks alot of bull about his car. Plus down here in the south (most centeral state's) a Ricer is known for makeing his car look Bad Ace. Like full body kit, and everything u can think of for the exterior and eve nthe interior. It'll also has the sound and the stupid TurboEffects from ebay (which is kinda fun to play with hehe...) but its sounds nice an all. You guys should know who im talken about the guy who is all smack and you go up to and wanna race him and he is like no everytime. I swear Ricer's are more annoying than the people who beat you in a race. its all

I typically apply the term Ricer to any one who street races... regardless of what their car looks like (A ricer is as much a mental state as it is a style of car modification)
