16.023 @ 86.13 mph
Went to the track lastnight for Midnight Madness. Ended up running 6 times.
My best for tonight was a 16.023 @ 86.13 mph. The temp at the track was around 88 degrees. I'm sure when it gets cool i'll break into 15s.
my mods:
lx to ex vtec head swap (engaged by e-manage)
slightly tuned e-manage (with zeitronix wideband)
K&N FIPK

universal muffler
16" ssr competetion C rims w/ falken ziex 512s
all interior still intact

any questions, comments, flaming? I really need to hit a dyno to actually get the most of this setup. I really dont want to do that considering how close I am to bieng turboed. I've tuned my a/f to around 14.0 and below. at full throttle it stays at around 13.6-14.0. Is this good or should I push it more? Also I tried different launching rpms but settled with 4500. also my tire pressure was at 18 psi.

no i've been a few times.. this was the second with the head swap + emanage. I blame the heat but i also blame my launches.. i could not get off the line good at all. The car would bog down slightly after I would catch traction.

^^ignore that.
First, your 60' times could use some work. 2.4 is kinda weak. Bring your 60' down and that will help your times immensely. 18psi seems a bit low for front tire psi, but i have not run a civic so i would not know offhand.
also, I would not push your a/f ratio any leaner without tuning. you need to be certain you aren't detonating (probably are not) but pushing it more you could.
between the weather and your 60' times i think a mid 15 would be possible with your current setup.

so...compared to redline04's times 15.1 (all he has more is weight reduction), something doesn't seem right. I'm betting XSRcivic has alot more than 111whp wih the mods he has. And those ssr rims are fairly lightweight as is... something's not right.

yeah my 60 foot does suck i just cant get the tires to hook up really good.. when i launch it feels good but once traction is caught it feels like it wants to bog.. i'm dumping at 4500- 5000 rpms so when i catch traction it drops to around 3800 or so. perhaps if i launched lower it would help the rpms pick up stronger rather than bogging it down? i figure the wheel spin wouldnt be as bad.

weight reduction, Drag radials?, doesnt he also have intake/exhaust?
You can’t guestimate as to what your best AF ratio is for making power. You are using some "Standard" figure that was set for cars designed 30 years ago. You HAVE to get it on a dyno in conjunction with the wideband in order to properly tune
And yea, thats pretty slow. For the price of that head swap you could be running 14s.

yeah well i dont expect to be hitting a dyno with this setup. i'm very close to finishing my turbo kit, so i'm not gonna dynotune n/a then turn around and spend more money on turbo tuning. Not trying to be a di<k but that headswap only cost me $200. i'd like to see that get me into the 14s. but thanks for the comments anyway. winter is approaching so i will get better times when it gets colder. hopefiully i can get my 60 foot times down with some practice.

i would say that its a work in progress. some say its slow but they were not there with you now were they? why 18 psi on the tires? isn't that just a little too low? good luck with the turbo(ing)

ignore the people who say it sux. they either have not run a 7th gen better than you all motor or have not run at all, all motor. Your times are good for a 15.7=15.5 with a 2.2 60ft. < hard but possible to do with street tires. not bad It took me what seemed like forever to break 15's all motor. bogging is your enemy, you want slight wheel spin.... nothing crazy just sligh. keep practicing and try not to drop the clutch so fast.
not bad on the times. get the 60' down! ... and it -was- 88 degrees. Elevation could have also played a roll. I noticed you also have some subs ... if you have a big box, you should take that out when you run too ;P
with the right track temp, degrees, launch, I don't think mid 15's are impossible.
gear: 16x7 ssr's are 11.1 pounds, iirc
... a lot better than "fairly lightweight" if you ask me

... a lot better than "fairly lightweight" if you ask me that really isnt too bad for a sedan. i also have a sedan but have an lx. i just did the exedy organic clutch and act streetlite flywheel along with a ex exhaust swap consisting of dc header random tech cat pipe and greddy evo2 exhaust. it reall ymade a good difference in power and drivability. i thik the car is a candidate fo a high 15 righ now with a good launch and 60' time. i need to get here to the track. and she already had a CAI. i am thinking about doing the head swap my self with a little vafc2 tuning. my goal is top put this thing into the 14's n/a. with a sedan i think its going to be a feat but itll be fun.

wow emanage for just swapped head? hmm, why dont you get something better like turbo, cams, nitrous, etc to use that Emanage. I heard all you really need for head swap is a apexi vtec controller.

ok wait let me clear things up...
i did NOT buy the emanage for an n/a setup. i installed it a few weeks ago in preperation for my turbo setup. i was previously using the vafc2. i have a coupe not a sedan. nitrous is not the direction i want to go cuz like someone said i could be there already. i'm not looking to build this car all motor I WILL be turboing it at the beginning of the year if not earlier. i was sharing my times with you guys to see what kind of response i would get. someone is always wondering what our cars run so i figured i'd share my times. I will continue to hit the track as much as i can to see if i can put this car into the 15 sec area.
something else i forgot to add about my mods was the camshaft and headwork. the ex head i am using was (according to guns) ported to the same specs as catalysts head. the cam shaft is made by Web (www.webcamshafts.com). I'm not sure how this makes a difference from the stock camshaft. this is probably alot less effective on an n/a setup rather than a boost setup. I also didnt have the sub box in the car which it really shouldy make much of a difference considering its small and weighs
around 25 lbs. I better throw in suspension mods too.. i'm using B+G coilovers and Neuspeed strut bar.
