R32 and SpecV backed out so I raced my friends 450+hp SRT on low boost

I was supposed to race an R32 and a cammed all motor spec V that both run somwhere around high 13's to low 14's. Well they both backed out and want to do it at the track next fri. So since nobody wanted to race me or my friend. We decided to race each other. He said he would leave it on low boost, so I agreed to waste my N20 in the name of fun. 8psi on a (edit) T3/T4 60trim with a 61mm wheel. He ran mid 13's with this setup before. From a dig we go pretty even off the start, by the end of first he is ahead slighly with his door panel at my front bumper, shift to second and hit the switch, he pulls ahead and my front bumper is right at his rear bumper, third through 4th he pulls ever so slightly, by 115 he is still about a car ahead of me and I shut down.
We went again this time he turned the high boost on(20#s)=450+HP , I actually had him out the hole but as soon as his turbo spooled he left me like I was standing still . Aiming for 13's this friday at the track Oh yeah forgot to mention I put the 50shot in and damn does it hit hard. Speed limiter comes up real quick now.
Got video. Need to get to host then I'll link it.

what you run on the street is different than what you run on the track. a lot of people like to talk about their track times as if they run that on the street, when 95% of the time that is definitely not the case.

i gaurantee you weren't running any better than a high 13 second pass the first time you ran him. and even that is a stretch.

I ran a 13.8 with a 65 shot in my EM1 Si when it had the B16A2. So not only did I start out with 160BHP, and 85lbs less (stock curb weight), but the gearing for the 99-00 Si is exactly the same as the USDM ITR minus the LSD. Read: a lot better then yours. I really doubt that your car will be pulling a 13 anything at the rack with just a 50 shot and bolt-ons.

BTW: I was piloting the car to consistent 14.9s' when all it had was just an AEM CAI and suspension upgrades, so yes, I do know how to drive the car.

Your car now has something it didn’t before… torque. That’s why its deceiving as to how much faster the car is. Trust me, go run it at a real track and you will find this out for your self.

If I had to guess you would probably be running mid-high 14s on a well preped track.

did you ever see the stock exhaust manifold? There is no doubt in my mind that I would have picked up a few 10ths like you if I had changed out my stock h/e.

I went from 15.9 in my Ex to 14.7 with a 50 shot buddy with a shitty 2.3 60 foot time. Theres no reason why Redline04 shouldn't be able to go from a 15.1 N/A to low 14's high 13's with nitrous.

his 15.1 na is in question at the moment.

nitrous will not improve your 60' time. unless you are using nitrous off the line and have the traction to handle it.

I would spray in first. WIndow switch was set to come on at 4K RPM, but that didnt matter since Id slip clutch launch at over 5500. Traction was never a serious problem... and thats with a 65 to 70 shot. Id usually pull 2.2s on street tires.

Launch at around 3000 in our cars depending on how good your tires are. Let me know what tires your using. I launch at like 3000-3200 and just spray once I get traction. But ive only been to the track twice with NOS so theres room for improvement.

Yes, but you seem to have the wrong idea. I don’t drop clutch launch. I Slip the clutch out at that RPM in order to minimize wheel spin while keeping the engine in its power band (read: in VTEC).

This technique accounted for many consistent 2.2 second 60’ times on street tires, as well as dead consistent ETs.

I also find it VERY laughable that this guy thinks he has a change with even a stock SRT-4 let alone these other cars that "backed out".

LOL more like they saw what the competition was and decided not to waste the gas.

Video is coming, I think my friends srt runs a little better than a stock srt even on low boost so with me right on his bumper I think it would be pretty close against a stock srt witha good driver..

Yea, make sure you get it from a roll so we know it’s not one of the many many many SRT4 lame-o drivers that manage to run a 15.8@103MPH

I mean, you want to fairly compare whos MACHINE is faster... right?

as i already said. what your friend runs on the street is far different than on the track. trying to make a comparison like this is stupid. your friend probably was on a good mid 14 second run when he ran you.

Quick Reply: R32 and SpecV backed out so I raced my friends 450+hp SRT on low boost
