i got off work and my engine was pretty warm. i stopped at a light. after this light the road turns into one lane 400 feet after the light. then it sprouts out to 4. so me at this light. this cavalier pulls up beside me. i heard his exhaust, and i think his intake when we were idling. he had a front lip that matched his body, and i couldn't tell if it was a body kit so i will stick with the lip. so i look at his car and inside is blue lighted, matching his outside. a little darker than baby blue, and he looks at me and my ride. and i stare at the light. i wasn't sure if he wanted to go but i heard him pull out hard and i said screw it, have some fun, so i rolled out slow, then when i heard him redline i did too, i shifted to second when i hit 6200, and was a half car behind him, shifted to second and when to the red again, shifted to 3rd and caught up, redline to fourth and was gone. i didn't even get to 5th. i was at 70 in fourth when i got out of the one lane road into the 4 lane. its sweet. and its my first kill. hope to get more.

ahh, good kill, but dont get your hopes up. On a straight line, the Civic cant beat many cars.

I am calling BS 70mph is still in 3rd and a ways from redline you don't hit the revlimiter in third until 83mph in a ex. And you say you were at 70 in 4th after you redlined 3rd???? Not saying that you could not beat a cavi, but I don't think that you really raced one, either that or your facts are f@#ked up

Truth, you just have to be a better driver. A good driver can make up for the car quite a bit. Unfortunately, I'm way beyond what my car can do as far as my driving ability.

Then what are you trying to say?? The simple fact is if you are trying to say that you redlined 3rd shifted to 4th at 70mph you are wrong. my guess is that you shifted to 3rd at say 80mph, and then let off in 4th. you may have slowed down a bit and then looked down at your speed.

3rd gear will redline at 80 or so mph. your car will be no different than any other ex. food for thought.

You need to stop taking this so personally, and you are too arguing with me by saying that you redlined at 70 in 3rd. Because you DID NOT you would have been ~ 6k and no that is not even close to any redlines on a civic. And your thread is not ruined so you can wipe away those tears. Infact I will stop posting in it. For future referance civics redline ~83mph in third gear. Consider this an education I have had my fair share dished out to me and S2kman and others are not near as nice as I am LOL
