Rep Power: 375 Bad day at the track today.
Today was a pretty warm and fairly muggy day down at GLD in wisconsin. Everyone was running pretty slow, me and Jeff (another S2k) included. lol. I have the 4.57 gears, Jeff has the comptech SC and this is his first track outing with the 4.57's. He was able to run a 13.3 with just the comptech SC, but today I think the best I saw him get was a 13.5. My best today was a 13.9. My 60' times were brought down to 2.1, still not fantastic, but better. The last time I went I had 13.8-14.0 with 2.2-2.3 60' and a 13.8 with a 2.1 and missed shift (that could have been a 13.5. doh!). But today, heat was the enemy and it showed for other cars too. LS1's F-bodies were running 14's, the SRT4 neons were running 14.2+, a few mustang GT's running mid 14's, and a new 05 GT running 14.2+.
Here's two videos.
This is me vs a new GTO. I ran 13.9, the GTO ran 14.7.

And here is me vs Jeff. He grinded 2nd gear, but pulled on me hard on the top. Though he ran a 14.3 to my 14.0, he was WAY ahead of me at the finish. Adjusting for reaction times he would have been around 13.8 I think.

FWIW, Jeff was having more of a learning day than anything, since this is his first time with the 4.57's and has to relearn the car essentially. (i myself am still going through this too a little bit. ) After all, with just the SC he ran 13.3, so I imagine with his upgraded pulley and 4.57 gears he should be into the mid 12's.

Rep Power: 0 Sorry to hear about your dissapointing times. Makes me feel better though that I'm not the only one running slow in these hot temps. 14.7 in a GTO that's funny. I saw a guy run a 15.2 the other night in one. Some people just can't drive I guess. Is Fall here yet?

Rep Power: 0 It looks like the guy in the GTO left his traction control on judging from how the car bounced.
I should have went down. Visiting family is only so much fun.

i did not miss a gear. the other S2000 owner did. and missing a gear on an S2k isn't horribly uncommon. the 1-2 shift is quite tricky. the 2-3 and 3-4 shifts are easy and can be done with lightning quickness, and hardly pushing the clutch in at all. but the 1-2 shift, you must pause just a split second after pushing in the clutch before you slam it to 2nd. it's the nature of a 9000rpm 1-2 shift.

Rep Power: 0 I don't think I'm gonna attempt to drag race this summer, especially in 105+ degree temps.....I don't even want to know how much power I would be losing.
A few weeks ago, track temps were over 90 degrees, boy did that suck and it's not even summer yet! I managed to pull good times though

Anyway... not a good day at the track for anyone. 13.9 is pretty good for the day though!
