SRT-4 meet!
So I was driving home from the movies with my buddy and we saw a bunch of cars in the parking lot so I decided to pull in. It was about 30 srt-4's. I walked up and tried to start a conversation and they wouldnt stop talking about how there seats hold them in when the turbo spools. I was like WTF! The turbo is spooling, why do you need to be held in. So I hit the switches and they looked at me like I was a stupid ricer (probably am) Overall I lost numerous brain cells looking at their cars, and listening to them talk about their turbos spooling.

This is true for the following reasons:
1. They were stupid enough to buy a Dodge
2. They dont have the funds or the mental capability to build a fast car of their own so they bit the bate with the Neon
3. They wanted a fast car that can only do ONE things.... go fast in a straight line
4. They don't care about build quality or resale value, all they wanted is a fast car so they closed their eyes on everything else
So s2k's statement may seem like a joke but in reality it isnt.

Dude, if you don't like the car, that's fine... but respect there meet. Nobody invited you, you took it upon yourself to go and pull a ricer move, that's what gives a bad name to the civic camp, stuff like that. NO hate against the thread starter, just grow up.

There's probablly a post on the SRT-4 forums somewhere about the ricer civic that tried to crash the meet.
This isn't much of a kill

respect the meet of course. no matter what car, let the enthusiasts be.
even if they are being dumb talking about their seats and their mad g-force boost, etc. i already stated my opinion on your average srt4 neon owner.
as for their seats, they are among the crappiest i've ever sat in.

That's like me going to a meet of 30 s2k's and saying "got torque' and doing burnouts infront of them, because there talking about there "vTEC pull"

Well if I was crashing their meet then hell yeah it woulda been a ricey move, but when I was going to starbucks that was right where they were meeting and just trying to have a conversation with them and they talk about there seats and ****, then no it wasnt a ricey move. If I was trying to crash their meet I wouldnt of taken the civic I woulda taken something that atleast was fast enough to handle a srt-4. But WTF are you talking about man there isnt even a similarity to doing burnouts in front of them, I hit the switches to lower the fvcking car and then to raise it again when I left, IMO not ricey, just making my car drivable since I cant drive it when its slammed.

I don't see anything dumb about buying a fast car, that only takes a little tweaking to make blazingly fast. The stage 1, 2, and 3 upgrades from mopar are extremely cheap for the performance gains they offer. And whoever said Viper seats are not awesome seats to have in a srt-4 definitely must have a closed mind against domestics for not appreciating how great those seats hold you in for being OEM. Therefore, I'm sure a bunch of you will retaliate saying, well it takes more skill and money to make are cars faster, (which for some reason people think this is a good thing) so I say congratulations on your purchase that requires you gobs of money to make it fast.

For the seats, sit in an RSX or even a del sol some time (never mind the lack of leg room and just admire the seat), but I guess that really depends on your body build. I've driven Vipers, not a big fan of the seats for the prices tag, I think the RSX seat is far better, but that's only IMO, and we all are allowed to have them.
As for the part of SRT-4 owners being stupid, all I have to say is that I'm sure not every one is stupid, but every one I have talked to (which is probably about 10 or so) and the ones from the SRT-4 forum seem to be a low on intellectual property. None of them so far know anything about their cars, other than it spools up and has Viper seats. Again, I'm not saying all SRT-4 owners are stupid, but I have seen a trend towards most are.
I bought a civic because I wanted a car to last till at least 200,000 miles, or at least be worth something after 5 years if I wanted to get rid of it and get over 30 MPG, not because I want it to be fast. If I want a fast car for straights, I would have bought an old Camaro again or something, but I've been there done that (I ran 10.7 in the quarter), time to move on and try something harder.
Yeah, if you want to go straight very fast and do it cheap, SRT-4 is the way to go. Just don't keep it past the warranty

Well Today I was in my dad's truck and was at a stop light... There was no cars on the right line of me and I was just chillin waiting for the light to turn green..the light turn green and I give it gas and am rolling around 10 mph and I hear what seems to be a muscle car..camaro maybe mustang. I look back and dont see anything but it already passed me up so I look foward and its a freakin SRT-4...I met him on the next light and he was sitting there on neutral since his car was rollin back and forth. But it sounded so mean and strong. Like a Muscle car. Speacially when he stepped on it. I also heard a WRX STI sound EXACTLY the same. Strong with a drone like it was chambered. Is it the muffler that makes that sound and if so EVERYONE should buy that muffler lol. Sound's like 2 Chamber Flowmaster's on a 5.0 with O/R H pipe...Nice

SRT-4 don't have mufflers technically. It actually has 2 resonators, no mufflers.
You must not be thinking of the old Muscle cars I'm used to. The ones that sounded like they are about to stallout at every stop light becasue the cam just wasn't ment to go uncer 2500 RPM, that's the sound I like

i personally have not heard flowmasters on an import.
however, i must say, the invidia on the S2000 is the best sound import exhaust I've ever heard. incredibly deep rich tone, no tinny sound, no rattling sound, just deep rich tone. it's an amazing exhaust.

as for the sound of that srt neon and the wrx with the muscle car sound, i think it could been the downpipe? ive heard an wrx with an aftermarket downpipe and it sounds very "bubbly" and mean. not same tone as pure muscle cars, but the sound of it.
iv seen some of them that looked pretty nice actually. they are pretty damn fast, but for all intents and purposes, its a neon. one of the most UNreliable cars on the road. i dont care how fast it is...for that reason alone id never get one
there is a difference between "inexpensive" and "cheap" the srt's are simply CHEAP cars imo
