for sure. when I do runs on the street I only like to use 1 road. it has no cross streets, it's rarely traveled at night and it's got 1/2 mile of straight away. on the sides is nothing but fields so thats a bonus too. no more dangerous then the track IMO.

ok, just got back from running. It wasnt as close as I thought it would be.

we ran 3 times from a dig and I had he launch advantage on each run so I stayed about 2-3 cars ahead before shutting down at about 90 - 100 mph

we also ran 3 times from a roll.
1) we started at like 30mph and by 140mph I had 5-6 cars at least
2) we started at 4,000 rpms in 2nd by my tach and he pulled ahead at first until I hit "lift". by 120mph ish I was up by 2-3 cars
3) I started at 2,000 rpms in 3rd and he started in 2nd. he pulled like 8-9 cars on me pretty fast but I was able to catch up 120mph and by 130 I had 1-2 cars on him.

when we were getting back on the freeway an IS300 was behind us and he lined up as well going 30mph lol (so yes, I know he was trying to join in.)I honked 3 times and went and I pulled out in front but I saw that mike didnt move so I stopped. the IS300 started to slow down then he must've decided he shouldnt try again cause he then sped back up and left lol

when we were lineing up for the 3rd run some older gen purple civic coupe flies by in the fast lane and puts his hazards on. we were like WTF? lol aparently he owned us because we were going 30 mph and he was prolly doing 70 which clearly meant he is a winner I bet he's gonna go tell his friends tomorrow he beat a gts and a ralliart.


all in all it was pretty fun. mike and his friend were pretty cool.

I also found out tha this tires blow hardcore. he'd be able to launch much better with some real tires. balding all seasons don't make for good drag tires.

last time I ran Johnny G in his M3 was at the track and we were dead even on my worst run so I'll prolly work on setting something up on video with him next.

It was good fun, im a noob driver... i admit that, and he is very experinced driver. I don't feel like my car isn't capable, but I def need new tires... they are bald . Torque means nothing if you can't launch right, and well I can't. Another factor is weight, my car stock is 2843lbs, his is 2500lbs. I have very low end torquey car, he has a very high end revvy car. My 162hp to his 180hp, and my 162trq to his 130trq, but I can't launch, so my torque factor was thrown out the window, so pretty much his HP/WEIGHT advantage was the key to the wins.

Oh yeah, 00celicagts6spd, tell ya buddies @ newcelica.org that my RA isn't a wannabe evo, when my car cost 13.5k and the evo is 30k, im FWD - N/A and it's AWD - TURBO, only thing we share with the evo is the interior and transmission. The wrx is more of a wannabe STi, than the RA is to the evo.
