hondata rsx vs S2000
I was on hwy 100 tonight, and had an RSX-S that was kinda playing around with me. We were in an open area, and after a light were able to get ahead of the traffic. I got next to him and he gave a nod. I downshifted and waited, and he downshifted and went. I floored it and we both took off at about the exact same time.
From about 40mph he stuck dead even next to my door. I'd venture to say he even pulled about a foot on me. It stayed like this until about 80mph. The last part of 3rd gear for me I pulled a little. Once I'd gone into 4th, I slowly started pulling away. From 80-110 I was able to put about 2 cars on him. Maybe 1.5.
I asked what he had done and he said he had hondata #2, intake, exhaust. Good run, and fast car.

They are not making a hondata for the S2k because the S2k's ecu cannot be flashed. We can only replace it with an aftermarket ECU. (the S2000 is the only honda ECU that can't be flashed. there currently is not a flash for the 05 rsx, however, but that ecu will eventually have a hondata flash)

Yeah the reflashed cars are pretty fast.
Dynos quite well with the cold air intake.
From a launch youd own that car so bad.

hondata #2 is the DC5R flash, so he might have had the ITR cams and maybe manifold too. otherwise he wouldn't be doing as good as he would have with the #4 flash (not that he would have beat you). as for hondata having numbers, it's easier than saying ITR flash, stock reflash, etc.
oh and a mugen ECU for an s2k (replacement) is 1500 dollars. thats a good chunk of $ that could go towards FI.

actually, Hondata #2 is the same as Hondata #4, except it doesn't have the 8600 rpm rev limiter ... only stock. http://www.hondata.com/kseriesecuinfoform.html
Hondata #4 would've been better and probably would've pulled on you

i doubt a hondata #4 would pull, all it does it raise the redline a couple hundred rpm. otherwise it's no different than #2
oh ... well I didn't mean pull as in walk your car ...
http://www.hondata.com/k20a2release.html
the optimal shift point is about 8300-8400 rpms ... and that's where one would shift if they had an 8600 redline (unless you got ridiculous hand-eye coordination, anticipation and reflexes) ... because naturally, with an 8100 rev limiter, you don't shift at fuel cutoff, because as you know, that would slow you down

I drive s2000's at work all the time. Pretty quick cars, can't understand how you get traction in those things. Everytime you get on it on a turn, back end whips around like nothing. I just wish they weren't convertibles.

^^ a lot has to be said for drivers. The S2000, in fact, handled so well it dominated in Bstock the last couple years, so they moved it to A stock this year.
if you know how to drive it, they handle on rails.
