Negative thread about my 1/4 mile times on Clubrsx.com
I heard there is a negative thread about me on the clubrsx.com forum.
I can't get to it because I only have access to govn't computers. Can anyone confirm this and let me know what is being said and maybe speak in my defense or refer them over to 7thgencivic.com where I can reply. I guess their mad because I ran what most stock Type-S run? I don't know?

If I don't spray in 1st gear I may be ok.
You should def. get some DR's. I'd also recommend some light weight wheels. The stock steelies are heavy, especially the 15's on the EX. I'm looking at these Kosei K-1 TS. 14"x6 only 9.2lbs for $120 a piece.

I'm not taking sides, since I've seen some incredible times first-hand, but there are some things you need to clear up, Redline.
1- They (clubrsx posters) say that the timeslip you posted proving your 15.1 is from 2001, when your car is a 2004. Can you post the timeslip again, or link us to it to see this?
2- You WERE stock when you ran a 15.1 ? If not, what were your mods?
The clubRSX post says that you ran that time with 250lbs weight reduction and slicks. My personal concerns are,
1- 250lbs may not be enough to justify a near .7 drop in time. 500lbs maybe, but you're dealing with a >100 wheel torque car. D-series motors just don't have much pull. V8's can get away with being heavy.
2- 90 MPH is a little low for a car that has to depend on high end to get it through the 1/4. That sounds more like a WRX time and mph. Low 60' and E.T., but low MPH for the time. Honda cars are usually trap in the mid 90's to hit 15.0.
3- Any 2.0 60' from ANY FWD vehicle, slicks or not, is insane. That implies a lot of torque to pull you off the line, as well as a lot of grip. FWD 4-cylinders have neither. What size slicks were you running?
It's not "impossible," just very "improbable."

why doesnt everyone just lay off the guy...he's answered people everytime someone tries to call him out, he's posted his timeslips, he has witnesses that say he ran those times, and he's explained any doubts that people have had....i called him out and he explained how it all went, and i believe him....why dont people let these thread about his times die out, and just accept that he is a good driver with some drag radials and a few mods that ran a 15.1....congrats to him and i hope he hits the 14's soon!

Bgoetz, I was talking about getting a set of slicks in the future and as I have been saying for the last two months geeting N20 when I get back. It does sound kinda misleading sorry. You saw the origional thread and the few that came on here and backed me up and these are people I just met at the track and talk on the internet with, not even real close friends except for 1320racing.

Ok there is definitely some misinformation going on.
1. yes the timeslip says 2001, the dates were printed wrong, S2000man has already called the mangager at the track and verified plus witnesses have posted on here to verify. You can do the same if you like. Think about though if I was faking it all I would have to do was chop the top of the slip and then post it.
Here is the origional thread for the hundreth time
http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=188385
you can read the whole thing if you like but right around post #42 is where the truth comes out.
2. Definitely not stock
My mods are listed on my cardomain and my profile, but I'll list for you again.
AemV2(sucks hot air by the way)
Kamakaze header(missing top two middle bolts, with sligth leak)
TanabeSRM
Removed power steering belt(rendering it inop)
EST. 200lbs weight reduction(never actually weighed the car, but it should be around 2250 w/out driver and a half tank of gas)
with those mods I ran 15.7 on stock 14" steelies with stock Dunlop tires at 22psi
slips
I found out I was getting deployed on fairly short notice. I wanted a 14sec slip before I left the country. So I ordered a UR crank pulley and some DOT approved BFG DRAG RADIALS, NOT Slicks! They came I installed the pulley and slapped the DR's on the stock 14"steelies. The following weekend, about a week before I was leaving I made one last trip to the track with my new setup in a final attempt for my 14sec slip. Well I fell short. Inexperience with the DR's. I need more practice. As I've said before I should have been able to bust a 1.9 60ft and that would have put me around a 14.9. Instead I ran the 15.1 So if I wad gonna make **** up I would have posted a 14sec slip somehow.
3. I was running on stock 14's with a 50series profile DR. It doesn't take much torque to get a lightweight car with a very short 1st gear rolling with tiny little wheels and tires. Just because most people can't bust a 2.0 I can't? Besides it was on DR's. The track prep/temp was perfect and everyone was hooking up quite well, but I was still spinning slightly due to the fact that I overheated the DR's. Just imagine what I could do with some slicks
There are three major local car clubs here in shreveport, to which I am not a member of any, but I do talk to them and have met them at the track. Go any one of these sites and I gaurantee at least someone from each club will vouch for me and have seen me run at the track or raced me.

oh yeah, forgot to mention the 15.4 I ran on my 17's with nitto neo gens. I was just curious to see what I would run before I slapped the bfgs on.
Didn't even heat them up. Pulled into the track unloaded my, jack, tools and tires, let the car cool for a bit then pulled into the staging lanes. As soon as I saw my slip I knew it was on and thought for sure I was gonna break 14's and went straight for the bfg's.
2.2 60ft with those Neo-Gens by the way.

Yes very impressive and believable. The others are just jealous. Hey I am too my car is still slower and I have some expensive mods too. But it's an auto tho
The Smuggler-
Comparitivley, the WRX sucks nads on top-end. They definitley do NOT trap 100 mph stock. AWD is a severe hamper of top-end power.
How do I know this? Because I've driven one, an old roommate's. Best 60' I could get was a 1.9 on falken's, and he chewed me out because I nearly broke a subie's fragile drivetrain. I wasn't scared to break his car, but he was.
If they had the high-end power to do so, they'd run low 13's, being that they're AWD and can launch like a bat out of hell. For the power that those cars actually have, they trap very good E.T.'s. Think about it... mustang GT's with 40+ more WHP, rear drive, and close in weight have similar E.T.'s, but higher MPH's indicative of their stronger motor.
Redline-
Thanks for clearing that up. If I had an account on clubRSX, I'd vouch for you. Congrats on being one of the fastest d-series motor's I've ever seen.
ClubRSX guys think that any car besides the RSX is crap. They are similar to DSMtuners.com, in that, the RSX c4n N3v4R L0s3! Turns out that they're just a bunch of fanboi's who talk about beating domestics with 100+ more WHP than them just because "they're heavy lards."
Well, they're light enough to kick plenty of ***, to the tune of 13's all freaking day.
My point is... disregard clubRSX. While I'm sure the tech sections have some valuable information, their kill stories area is notorious for fanboi's and flamers.
Redline- I'm in B.R... and applying to medical school in Shreveport. I might hit you up in a few months (with luck), and we'll go smoke some tires.

2. his trap speed indicates that he was definitely NOT spraying, as he would have had a higher trap if he was. 90mph is within the average margin for a car running low 15's. Look at a type S. dont they trap around 92-93 when they dip into the 14's?
3. 2.0 60' times on fwd are not as uncommon as you think. i see people do it all the time on dr's at our track. with a proper suspension setup and DR's or slicks, 2.0 60' is most certainly attainable by any car, FWD or not.

also i'm registered on clubrsx (have been for years). i'll have to go take a look. i stopped going to that site because of the overwhelming amount of flamers and bs that goes on in the race forum. the rest of the site is great. some extremely knowledgeable poeople in the tech forums there too.

I get it all the time
Hell yeah there are two tracks near by(about 45mins). Hallsville(where I ran my best) and Red River Raceway. I've been told that Red River is actually faster due to there excellent prepping. I never got to go there because they didn't open up until after I left. I will be back around May/June. It's gonna suck because the temps at night can hang around in the upper 80's to 90's at night and humidity is like 99.9%. Not the most ideal conditions and very rough on the car. But the fall through spring makes for some great racing. Hallsville usually stays open all year and red river shuts down for a couple months.
Like S2000man said with slicks and a good suspension great 60fts can be had with fwd. Since I'm cutting good times without either(teinS-techs with stock shocks didn't do **** for me, still 4X4ing and very soft) I can't wait to see what I can do with them and a nice tuned set of coilovers.

I managed to borrow lap top and gain access to the clubrsx thread. I pretty much posted the same thing I did on the first page of this thread in hopes to clear things up. I also told them to direct there questions/flames to me on here where at least I have access and can answer/defend for my self, being how I probally won't be able to get on there again. That's the best I can do.

but a lot of the threads are worthless in the general and race topics, for sure.

I personally find the time unbelievable, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt. That is such an insanely low time for a damn near stock Civic. But, there was a loss of about 250 lbs. May I ask where you removed 250 lbs? I would really consider doing the same in my car whenever I get that thing back from the body shop. It would make driving around even more entertaining.

It's definetly not for everyone. A bity noisy to some(my wife) but I don't mind. It's a blast to drive I just cant wait until I get a real suspension and some stiffer sidewall tires.

Easy - Rear seats, spare tire, anything in the car except registration, various plastic crap under the hood (depends on if it has a purpose), any big speakers, floor mats, sun visors, the false floor in the trunk above the spare, ..
Hard(er) - All of the above, remove carpeting, door speakers, A/C compressor, interior door panels, radio head unit, remove/scrape off sound insulation,
Mainly, take out the creature comforts. I'd do it right before a track day, but otherwise, just leave it in. It's effective... I got the Jetta to right about 2950 lbs and it made a big difference. Can I run a 15.2 RIGHT NOW? probably not.. Did I run it when I was lighter? Yup.
