I was coming home friday night with my girlfriend in the car. We got off the freeway, and in the right lane was a white neon at the light. I usually don't like getting stuck behind someone that could be a slower driver, so I moved into the left lane right away, since the upcoming road went from 2 lanes to 1.

It looked like a guy and his girlfriend as well. (what girl would date a guy who drives a neon is beyond me) I was planning on accelerating briskly so I could get ahead of him once the light turned. As soon as it hit green, he floored it and got a little squeal out of his tires. lol. I was a little surprised, so I just floored it. By the time I ran through first gear (around 45mph) I shut down, since I already had about 4 cars on him. lol

Then yesterday, I was on my way home from work, and noticed that a little ford focus SVT was jumping around ahead of me in traffic. I maneuvered my way through traffic and ended up eventually behind him. I wasn't looking for a race too much, because there was too much traffic. We were able to catch a light, however, and so I moved into the middle lane to kinda check things out. I looked over, and it looked to be a guy and his girlfriend (what girl would date a guy who drives a focus is beyond me) ((yes i'm using the same joke over again, lol)).

Anyways, I'm waiting with my foot on the gas in case he decides to show his girl how mad fast his focus is. The light turns, and he floors it almost immediately as we start to go. I floor it, and much to my surprise, I only get about 1 car on him through 1st gear. Then I hear it..... PSHHHH. Turbo charged. No wonder. I go through 2nd, and continue to pull another couple cars on him. Into 3rd and I'm pulling enough that he decides to give up.

lol, that was a cool little surprise.

Nice kills... Pretty funny how you can use that joke non-stop about 90% of the cars on the road and it never gets old.

Also pretty funny how a turbo focus is a "nice little suprise" compared to an S2K...

i was 99% certain before, and after researching it and google-ing the hell out of it, no production focus ever came with a turbo.

some focus came with 50 shot.... its rare and was the collection one. If I remember correctly, only 50 made like that.

uh, i can't imagine they will EVER sell a production car in the US that comes with nitrous? why? oh gee, that whole thing about it being illegal to use on public roads. yeah, that whole thing.


oh and i assume you'd mean ford focus svt saleen. and i can't find a damn thing about any ford focus coming with a 50 shot in the net anywhere. wanna point me to some info or something credible talking about this? and it's still just a standard focus but with saleen parts.

and yes the RS focus was turbo'd, but not available in the US.

yeah find it if you can. again i cant' imagine they'd sell it as a production vehicle considering it is illegal to use on public roads. in fact, you can't even have the bottle open and hooked up.

however, this is a saleen vehicle. they may say production vehicle in the article, but a saleen vehicle is hardly a production vehicle. (with the exception of the S7)

I ran a stock S2000 with my focus when it only had a intake exhaust and gutted from a roll and stayed right beside him from about 45-80mph....maybe its just different from a dig. the only turbo out for the svt focus is made by a guy in belmont NC and a custom setup. Most on pump gas are making about 200whp and 210wtq. I don't see you beating him from a roll. Im not trying to call you a lier or start a fight just a opinion.
By the way what do S2000 run at the track and what do they trap at.
And what do you run.

here's the interesting part. they deliver the car to you with an empty bottle.

once you hook up the nitrous kit and fill the bottle, it voids your warranty.

like i said, no production focus comes with nitrous.

I really doubt that he was racing you the hp difference is huge and I think that the S2000 may even be lighter than a focus. I really don't think that a 200whp focus would hang with a S2000. For the simple fact that a 200whp civic is at best a drivers race and a focus weighs a bit more

i've run 13.7@102 stock. the cars run high 13's in the 100-103 area trap.

if you ran an S2000 with a focus with intake/exhaust, etc and stayed next to him from 45-80mph, I'm sorry to say, but you ran a TERRIBLE driver. maybe he started in 3rd or 4th, or shifted at 5000rpm or who knows. just dont think that is the norm, because it certainly isn't.

and this is not the first turbo charged SVT i've run. as for the kit available in NC.... anyone can get a custom kit made by any shop willing to do it. IMO, me vs a 200hp focus, i'll take me over the focus. from a dig he'd have no chance. from a roll, he'd probably put up a fight til about 60mph, and then it'd be all S2000 top end.

well the guy that makes them in Nc has a svt that ran 12.99 @ 111MPH @ Cordava This is with around 17PSI, DOT tires, and full interior trim. at the time 280bhp and 270btq

There is a few guys with a SVTF with only mods being a JRSC and some good street tires running 13.9 at 103mph.
I haven't made it to the track yet so I don't have any times.

But when I was all motor I was running 14.8 at 93mph that was with aem sri, afx udp, gutted, shitty tires, borla catback, and a off road pipe

i saw the saleen focus @ detroit auto show. not even 150hp, like 148. only real mod i could see in the listing was an exhaust. not impressed really. and the turbo focus in england is the rs, i think there is maybe one in the states. basically the same motor as the mazdaspeed protege had (170hp, around 160tq) so stock not faster than the svt by much.

as for the 330ish hp at 17psi, not all that impressive for the heavy boost being run.

i'm not doubting you, but the S2000 has a full 10mph on you in the trap. that's a HUGE amount. like i said, you ran a bad driver, so just dont think that is normal is all i was saying.

i'm not saying there aren't fast focii out there, or it can't be done. i'm simply telling you what i've run against and my story. hell if i know how much psi these guys were running. but in my experience, a turbo'd 200hp car like the focus will hang with me to about 60. after that it's all top end.

look at the srt4. 230hp and it does about the same from a roll. except on the top end, again the S2k pulls. granted the neon hangs in there a bit longer than 60mph.
